Role Context
The Housekeeping Team Leader turns departmental plans into consistent daily execution. By organizing attendants, inspecting completed work, monitoring room readiness, and coordinating corrective actions,
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and motivate assigned housekeeping attendants.
* Allocate rooms, public areas, and operational duties at the start of each shift.
* Adjust assignments according to occupancy, arrivals, departures, and service priorities.
* Conduct shift briefings and explain daily expectations.
* Monitor employee progress and provide practical support.
* Inspect cleaned guest rooms and suites.
* Check public areas for cleanliness, presentation, and safety.
* Verify compliance with departmental procedures and resort standards.
* Identify quality issues and coordinate immediate correction.
* Monitor room readiness and communicate updates to relevant teams.
* Follow up on maintenance defects and out-of-order equipment.
* Ensure linen, amenities, chemicals, and supplies are available.
* Promote safe handling of cleaning products and machinery.
* Reinforce hygiene, workplace safety, and hazard-prevention requirements.
* Respond to guest housekeeping requests promptly.
* Handle routine service concerns and escalate serious matters.
* Coach attendants in cleaning techniques and guest-service standards.
* Support the onboarding and development of new colleagues.
* Maintain accurate inspection, attendance, and operational records.
* Complete required administrative work and shift reports.
* Coordinate with Front Office, Engineering, Laundry, and Housekeeping leadership.
* Ensure complete and accurate handovers between shifts.
* Encourage teamwork, accountability, and positive guest-focused behavior.
Ideal Profile
* Previous experience in a comparable housekeeping role.
* Team-leading or supervisory experience within a hotel or resort is preferred.
* Degree in Hotel Management or a high school diploma is advantageous.
* Strong understanding of guest-room and public-area cleaning standards.
* Able to inspect work carefully and identify presentation issues.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Confident leading, motivating, and coaching attendants.
* Computer literate with strong administrative capabilities.
* Organized and able to allocate work according to operational demand.
* Committed to exceptional cleanliness and customer service.
* Calm and practical when handling time-sensitive room priorities.
* Able to coordinate effectively with other resort departments.
