The
VIP Hostess supports the overall guest journey by creating a professional, welcoming, and personalized arrival experience before guests reach their tables. In a high-end restaurant, the quality of this first interaction can influence the tone of the entire dining experience, making attentiveness, confidence, and polished communication essential.
The role also contributes to smooth restaurant operations by monitoring guest flow, maintaining awareness of waiting times, coordinating seating priorities, and working closely with the wider food and beverage team. Success requires the ability to remain composed and engaging during busy service periods while maintaining luxury hospitality standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Welcome guests warmly and create a polished first impression on arrival.
* Act as the primary point of contact for guests entering the restaurant.
* Confirm reservations and support accurate guest seating arrangements.
* Monitor the waiting list and keep guests informed of expected seating times.
* Coordinate guest flow with the restaurant team to support efficient table turnover.
* Escort guests to their assigned tables in a professional and courteous manner.
* Communicate special requests, preferences, and relevant guest information to the appropriate team members.
* Maintain awareness of VIP guests and support personalized service requirements.
* Engage guests in natural, professional conversation while they wait or move through the restaurant.
* Provide clear information regarding seating arrangements and restaurant procedures.
* Work closely with servers, supervisors, and restaurant management to maintain smooth front-of-house operations.
* Monitor the entrance and reception area to ensure it remains organized and presentable.
* Assist with reservations coordination when required.
* Respond calmly and professionally to delays, seating changes, or guest concerns.
* Escalate service issues to senior colleagues when additional support is required.
* Maintain discretion when dealing with VIPs, high-profile guests, and confidential guest information.
* Support special occasions and guest celebrations by coordinating relevant details with the service team.
* Adapt communication style to guests from different cultures and backgrounds.
* Remain attentive to restaurant activity and anticipate changes in seating availability.
* Maintain high standards of grooming, presentation, and professional conduct.
* Support colleagues during peak service periods and contribute positively to team performance.

Ideal Profile
* Previous experience as a hostess, VIP hostess, restaurant receptionist, or similar front-of-house professional is preferred.
* Approximately 2 years of experience within a luxury hotel, fine dining restaurant, or high-end hospitality environment is advantageous.
* International hospitality exposure is highly valued.
* Excellent spoken communication skills.
* Confident and engaging interpersonal style.
* Strong customer service awareness with the ability to make guests feel comfortable and recognized.
