The Legal Counsel and Data Privacy Officer will be responsible for delivering high-quality legal support, advising on risk mitigation, and ensuring regulatory compliance across all operational areas. This includes managing contractual obligations, regulatory matters, and data protection protocols aligned with regional and global standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Review and negotiate Heads of Terms and franchise agreements with global franchisors, ensuring terms minimize risk and enhance commercial value
* Provide strategic legal advice across commercial, regulatory, and intellectual property issues affecting various departments
* Manage data breach responses, ensuring regulatory obligations are met promptly and effectively
* Translate legal documents between Arabic and English with precision
* Monitor legal developments regionally and globally, updating internal stakeholders and advising on necessary legal actions
* Support internal audits, investigations, and regulatory queries across employment, franchising, and operational practices
* Deliver training programs for internal teams and franchise partners on contracts, compliance, labor law, and dispute resolution
* Handle data subject access requests, employee privacy training, and implementation of data protection strategies
Required Qualifications and Experience
* Bachelor’s degree in Law
* CIPM or CIPP/E certification is advantageous
* 3–5 years of legal experience, preferably with in-house legal teams
* Retail sector experience is a plus
* At least one year of proven experience in privacy compliance or a related domain
* Working knowledge of data protection technologies such as encryption, DLP, or anonymization
