Role Context
The Cybersecurity Lead - OT Security role supports the secure delivery of high-impact technology and engineering projects where operational continuity, compliance, and risk reduction are essential. The role ensures that cybersecurity is not treated as an afterthought but is built into architecture, controls, documentation, vendor coordination, monitoring, and operational readiness.
The successful candidate will act as a subject matter expert across critical infrastructure and OT environments, helping teams identify security gaps, apply practical controls, maintain risk registers, support audits, and improve the overall security posture of regulated systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead cybersecurity design and secure architecture activities for OT, ICS, and critical infrastructure environments.
* Define and embed secure-by-design controls across project lifecycles, from planning and architecture through implementation and handover.
* Conduct cybersecurity risk assessments and maintain risk registers with clear mitigation actions, ownership, and closure tracking.
* Oversee system hardening across infrastructure, endpoints, networks, and OT platforms.
* Support network segmentation strategies to reduce exposure and improve resilience across operational systems.
* Establish logging, monitoring, and security visibility requirements, including integration with SIEM or centralized monitoring platforms.
* Govern vulnerability management and patching processes to keep systems secure, stable, and aligned with operational requirements.
* Prepare cybersecurity documentation, technical deliverables, security evidence, audit records, and compliance submissions.
* Review vendor designs, technical proposals, security configurations, and project documentation for alignment with cybersecurity requirements.
* Coordinate with engineering teams, project managers, vendors, and operational stakeholders to ensure security requirements are understood and implemented.
* Support audits, compliance reviews, and evidence collection against relevant cybersecurity standards and frameworks.
* Provide technical guidance to engineers and specialists working across multiple cybersecurity and infrastructure projects.
* Drive continuous improvement in OT security governance, control effectiveness, documentation quality, and risk management.
Ideal Profile
The ideal candidate has 7+ years of cybersecurity experience with direct exposure to OT, ICS, critical infrastructure, or large-scale regulated technology environments. The role requires someone who can independently lead cybersecurity deliverables, advise stakeholders, and manage complex security requirements across multiple projects.
A Bachelor degree in Cybersecurity, Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent discipline is required. Strong practical experience in OT security architecture, network security, segmentation, endpoint protection, system hardening, logging, monitoring, risk assessments, and compliance is essential.
Candidates should be confident working as a technical lead or subject matter expert, with the ability to influence vendors, engineering teams, and project stakeholders. Strong documentation skills, audit readiness, and knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks are important for success in this role.
