What Does a Data Network Engineer Do at Al-Futtaim?
As a Data Network Engineer, you\'ll deliver high-availability infrastructure services to AMC clients. You\'ll implement, troubleshoot, and maintain robust network environments across enterprise-class technologies including Cisco, Aruba, Fortinet, and Alcatel Lucent.
What Are the Key Responsibilities?
- Provide post-sales technical support and ensure compliance with customer SLAs
- Configure, install, and troubleshoot routers, switches, wireless controllers, firewalls, and load balancers
- Conduct advanced diagnostics and infrastructure monitoring for enterprise-level networks
- Coordinate closely with vendors, service providers, and internal teams to meet implementation goals
- Lead incident management including equipment replacement and service restoration
- Perform change management tasks, preventive maintenance, and onsite health checks
- Deliver customer training on network system usage
- Monitor network performance, manage upgrades, and maintain security standards
What Skills and Experience Do You Need?
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Telecom, IT, or Computer Science
Certifications:
- Valid CCIE certification is mandatory (Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert)
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in data networks, routing and switching, Wi-Fi, and firewall/security systems
- Strong background in Cisco, Aruba, and Alcatel Lucent wireless and switching technologies
- Experience with proxy servers, DNS/DHCP, WAN accelerators, and OSI/TCP-IP models
- Proven ability to manage monitoring, diagnostics, and analytics tools
Technical Expertise:
- Proficient in configuring and supporting network infrastructure (L2/L3 protocols, QoS, IPSEC, STP, VRRP, OSPF)
- Skilled in customer-facing support and managing 24x7 enterprise service environments
- Solid understanding of service delivery lifecycle including documentation and knowledge transfer
