Key Responsibilities
* Design logical and physical database models based on business requirements, BRDs, application workflows, and enterprise data needs.
* Create ERDs, schemas, data flow diagrams, entity relationships, and database documentation for new and existing systems.
* Translate functional and technical requirements into structured database designs that support performance, scalability, and maintainability.
* Work closely with business analysts, developers, DBAs, architects, and project teams during solution design and implementation.
* Define database standards, naming conventions, field definitions, data structures, and documentation rules.
* Review database models to ensure data integrity, security, consistency, normalization, and alignment with best practices.
* Support performance-focused design decisions, including indexing considerations, data relationships, and optimized schema structures.
* Maintain updated documentation for database designs, data dictionaries, data flows, table relationships, and system dependencies.
* Assist teams in understanding database structures, data ownership, and integration points across business applications.
* Validate database designs against compliance, operational needs, and future scalability requirements.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Management, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
* Minimum 5 years of experience in database design, data modeling, database documentation, or enterprise data architecture support.
* Strong experience creating logical and physical data models, ERDs, schemas, and database design documentation.
* Good understanding of relational database concepts, normalization, data integrity, indexing, scalability, and secure database design.
* Ability to read BRDs, understand business workflows, and convert requirements into practical database structures.
* Experience collaborating with business analysts, software developers, DBAs, solution architects, and technical delivery teams.
* Strong documentation discipline with attention to naming standards, design consistency, and data governance principles.
* Analytical mindset with the ability to identify design gaps, data relationship issues, and future system requirements.
