Role Context
This role is responsible for leading a team of engineers to design and deliver complex backend systems that power high-volume digital operations. The Engineering Manager ensures alignment between product goals and technical execution, while building a strong engineering culture focused on quality, speed, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage a team of engineers, enabling them to design, build, and own scalable systems
* Drive technical strategy and ensure delivery of reliable and high-performance backend services
* Collaborate with product, design, and data teams to define and execute roadmap priorities
* Mentor and develop engineering talent through coaching, feedback, and career growth planning
* Guide teams in building solutions that meet scalability, availability, and performance standards
* Oversee the full software development lifecycle including planning, development, and deployment
* Promote engineering best practices including continuous delivery, testing, and refactoring
* Ensure alignment across teams and manage dependencies through proactive communication
Ideal Profile
* 6+ years of experience in software engineering with strong backend development expertise
* Minimum 2 years of experience in technical leadership or people management
* Strong understanding of distributed systems including microservices and event-driven architecture
* Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS
* Proven ability to lead cross-functional and self-organized engineering teams
* Strong communication skills with ability to influence stakeholders
