Role Context
The ERPNext Developer plays a critical role in improving operational efficiency by managing ERPNext development, customization, deployment, and optimization across multiple business functions. This position supports business transformation by aligning technical solutions with functional requirements and ensuring stable, secure, and scalable ERP operations.
Key Responsibilities
Customize and extend ERPNext modules using the Frappe Framework with Python, JavaScript, and Jinja.
Develop custom applications, DocTypes, workflows, client scripts, server scripts, and print formats.
Build dashboards, reports, analytics views, and role-based access structures for business users.
Optimize ERP performance, troubleshoot technical issues, and manage system patches and version upgrades.
Gather business requirements and map workflows across HR, Payroll, Finance, Inventory, CRM, Projects, and Academics.
Configure permissions, workflows, notifications, and document structures based on operational needs.
Perform gap analysis and recommend process improvements aligned with ERPNext best practices.
Lead user acceptance testing, end-user training, and functional documentation delivery.
Manage ERPNext deployments, bench operations, upgrades, and database migrations.
Maintain system security, access control, and data integrity across all ERP environments.
Coordinate with hosting and infrastructure teams for server management and cloud deployment operations.
Implement REST API integrations with attendance systems, payment gateways, portals, and third-party services.
Configure automation using webhooks, scheduled jobs, and business process workflows.
Prepare BRDs, SRS documents, SOPs, functional specifications, and release documentation.
Maintain configuration logs and ensure compliance with internal IT governance standards.
Ideal Profile
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required.
Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on ERPNext and Frappe Framework experience is mandatory.
Strong expertise in Python, JavaScript, MariaDB, Jinja, Git, Linux, Ubuntu, and Nginx.
Proven ERP implementation experience in medium to large organizations is required.
Strong understanding of HR, Payroll, Finance, Inventory, Procurement, Sales, CRM, and Project modules.
Knowledge of the Education module will be an added advantage.
Experience with API integrations and workflow automation is essential.
Cloud hosting experience with AWS or DigitalOcean is highly preferred.
Portfolio or GitHub showcasing ERPNext customizations is strongly preferred.
Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder coordination skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple ERP initiatives successfully.
