MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


- Coordinate the repair, replacement and installation of computers, laptops, printers and peripherals, including telecommunications equipment and data networks.
- Support the Microsoft Windows and Office Professional product family; use and troubleshoot MS XP Professional OS and MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Visio.
- Detect and remove computer viruses.
- Install anti-virus software.
- Detect hardware and software problems, conduct computer upgrades, perform networking diagnoses/set-up and resolve PC-specific issues/troubleshooting.
- Perform Symantec Back-up Exec and Symantec Tape Management.
- Document Help Desk trouble calls and track to resolution.
- Follow-up via phone, e-mail or in person to ensure IT customer satisfaction.
- Maintain physical IT files and office databases including asset registers, user account registers, equipment and software distribution, software licensing, warranty information, etc.
- Conduct a physical inventory of all IT equipment and software.
- Sustain software integration and functional testing as required.
- Ensure that safety practices, housekeeping, and environmental standards are maintained in IT spaces.
- Maintain the confidentiality and security of all company documents.
- Support other employees of the IT section in fulfilling their roles
- Ensure compliance with all safety, housekeeping and environmental directives.
- Perform other duties as directed by the Manager, IT and Digitalisation.



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


- High school diploma is required, a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- A minimum of two years of experience providing IT customer support to computer users in an office environment is required.
- Certifications in any of the following are highly desired; SAP, IBM MAXIMO, Microsoft, and/or Oracle are an advantage.
- A proven ability to interact with employees of different levels and different cultures is preferred.

- The ability to work analytically and independently, as well as within a team is preferred.
- The ability to adaptable to a rapidly changing technical environment is an advantage.
- An ability to communicate effectively in English, both in writing and verbally is required.
