Job Overview
The Security Architect will be responsible for designing and maintaining a robust IT security architecture that aligns with business priorities and emerging threat landscapes. The role requires a proactive approach to integrating security controls across all layers of the enterprise environment—including cloud, infrastructure, application, and identity systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain enterprise-level security architecture frameworks in line with evolving business and compliance requirements
* Design, implement, and update security standards, policies, and controls for infrastructure, applications, and data systems
* Embed security by design in IT initiatives by collaborating with enterprise architects and project delivery teams
* Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration tests, and compliance audits to identify and remediate risks
* Define and enforce enterprise-wide Identity and Access Management (IAM) strategies
* Lead adoption of security practices across on-premises and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
* Monitor cybersecurity trends, regulatory changes, and threat intelligence to inform strategic security decisions
* Coordinate with Information Security and Risk Management teams to elevate organizational security posture and response capabilities
Job Requirements
Education:
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field
Experience:
* Minimum 7 years in IT security architecture, cybersecurity strategy, or information security governance
* Demonstrated success leading security integration across enterprise technologies and business domains
Skills:
* Strong knowledge of security architecture frameworks (SABSA, TOGAF, NIST, ISO 27001)
* Expertise in cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP), network security, and application-level protections
* Proficiency in IAM, encryption technologies, firewall configuration, and intrusion detection/prevention systems
* Strong understanding of regulatory compliance, risk management, and vulnerability mitigation
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Certifications (Preferred):
* CISSP, CISM, TOGAF, SABSA, CEH, or equivalent security architecture credentials
