Role Context
Accurate demand forecasting and responsive pricing allow business teams to improve inventory decisions, protect margins and respond quickly to changing customer behaviour. This position will build predictive systems that connect demand, stock availability, competitor information and commercial objectives.
The role will also establish dependable MLOps practices so models can move efficiently from experimentation into monitored production environments. Collaboration with Marketing, Product and Sales teams will ensure technical solutions produce measurable business results.
Key Responsibilities
The Senior Data Scientist will manage the model lifecycle from data exploration and experimentation through cloud deployment, monitoring and continuous optimisation.
* Build demand-forecasting models using traditional statistical and machine learning methods.
* Apply ARIMA, XGBoost and LSTM techniques to forecasting problems.
* Use Generative AI to simulate future demand scenarios.
* Improve predictive accuracy by combining established and emerging modelling approaches.
* Develop dynamic pricing algorithms using demand, inventory and competitor data.
* Analyse customer behaviour through clustering and segmentation.
* Predict customer lifetime value to support personalised pricing.
* Evaluate models using MAE, RMSE, Precision and Recall.
* Fine-tune models to strengthen accuracy, stability and robustness.
* Implement version control, automated testing and deployment pipelines.
* Establish model monitoring and scaling practices across environments.
* Deploy forecasting and pricing models through the Azure cloud platform.
* Use continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines for production releases.
* Monitor real-time performance and resolve model issues proactively.
* Partner with commercial teams to align analytical solutions with business priorities.
Ideal Profile
Candidates must hold a master\'s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Machine Learning, Mathematics, Computer Science or another quantitative discipline.
At least 10 years of data science experience is required, including five or more years focused on demand forecasting, price optimisation and customer analytics. Applicants must demonstrate practical experience with ARIMA, XGBoost, LSTM and operations research models.
The role requires advanced technical judgement, strong problem-solving ability and the communication skills needed to explain complex modelling decisions to non-technical stakeholders.
