Role Context
The Smart Cities Specialist - Digital Mobility will support digital transformation and technology-led urban development across complex consultancy and infrastructure projects. The role connects smart city planning, AI use cases, mobility innovation, data visualization, IoT, ICT infrastructure, digital twin concepts, geospatial solutions, and multidisciplinary design coordination. By translating emerging technologies into practical strategies, roadmaps, proposals, and implementable solution designs, the position helps clients improve city operations, passenger experience, sustainability outcomes, asset performance, and future-ready infrastructure delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead consultancy and advisory projects related to smart cities, digital mobility, AI, urban technology, infrastructure digitalization, and connected city solutions.
* Define project scope, workplans, delivery schedules, resource needs, milestones, and quality expectations for digital advisory assignments.
* Prepare high-quality deliverables including smart city strategies, technology roadmaps, technical reports, concept designs, implementation plans, and executive presentations.
* Advise clients on smart city ambitions, digital transformation goals, advanced mobility opportunities, and practical technology adoption across Middle East markets.
* Apply real-world knowledge of smart city technologies to shape solutions that are technically sound, commercially realistic, and implementation-ready.
* Identify and develop smart city solution concepts using AI, IoT, digital twin, geospatial technologies, ICT infrastructure, data platforms, and advanced mobility systems.
* Support proposal development by identifying new opportunities, qualifying client needs, shaping value propositions, and preparing structured technical and commercial responses.
* Lead or contribute to business growth activities across multiple digital, technology, mobility, and smart infrastructure domains.
* Coordinate with master planning, mobility, transport, landscape architecture, sustainability, environmental, and asset management teams to embed digital solutions into wider project outcomes.
* Ensure smart city solutions align with urban planning objectives, sustainability priorities, mobility strategies, operational needs, and future asset management requirements.
* Conduct research into emerging technology trends and translate findings into practical recommendations for clients and project teams.
* Develop conceptually robust solution designs that can guide future deployment, procurement, integration, and operations.
* Support multidisciplinary design teams with implementation-aware input on digital systems, technology infrastructure, and smart city operating models.
* Use data visualization, dashboards, and analytical tools to communicate insights, track performance, and strengthen decision-making.
* Review engineering and system architecture drawings where required to understand digital interfaces, technology dependencies, and integration requirements.
* Prepare clear written reports, client presentations, proposal narratives, technical notes, and project documentation.
* Take ownership of assigned tasks, resolve issues proactively, and ensure deliverables are completed on time and to a high professional standard.
* Build strong working relationships with clients, internal disciplines, technical teams, and regional stakeholders across complex project environments.
Ideal Profile
* Technical degree from an accredited program involving technology, digital solutions, engineering, smart infrastructure, ICT, computer science, or a related field.
* More than 10 years of experience working in a consultancy, engineering, technology advisory, infrastructure, or digital transformation environment.
* Specialist knowledge in one or more areas such as AI, geospatial solutions, digital twin, advanced mobility, IoT, ICT infrastructure, or urban technology.
* Practical familiarity with real-world implementation of smart city and digital solutions within multidisciplinary project environments.
* Strong understanding of how smart technologies can support urban planning, transport systems, sustainability, operations, asset performance, and public service delivery.
* Experience developing strategies, roadmaps, technical reports, solution concepts, and client-facing presentations.
* Ability to contribute to business development through opportunity identification, proposal writing, solution positioning, and client engagement.
* Experience in data visualization tools such as Power BI will be an advantage.
* Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, system architecture diagrams, and digital infrastructure concepts will be beneficial.
* Strong analytical and lateral thinking skills with the ability to solve complex urban technology and infrastructure problems.
* Passion for emerging technology, digital innovation, smart mobility, AI, and future city trends.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
* Arabic language skills will be a strong advantage.
