Job Overview
As a Solution Architect, you will be responsible for defining robust, scalable system architectures for next-generation port and logistics solutions. You will guide the software development life cycle from feasibility to delivery, ensuring compliance with technical, security, and performance standards. This position requires hands-on technical expertise with Oracle, Java, and modern middleware platforms supporting complex logistics environments.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop high-level system architecture, data flow diagrams, and modular design plans for large-scale enterprise applications
* Present architectural frameworks for review and approval, ensuring compliance with internal IT governance standards
* Coordinate with system analysts to translate business requirements into detailed software specifications
* Oversee end-to-end solution design including legacy system modernization, data migration, and performance optimization
* Embed security, compliance, and scalability into every layer of software development
* Define and maintain database design standards and optimized retrieval strategies using PL/SQL and Oracle tools
* Promote use of Spring Boot and RESTful APIs for streamlined system integration across port terminals, customs, and logistics platforms
* Maintain alignment with operations teams to ensure IT solutions support vessel, yard, and gate automation
* Review QA test results for alignment with specifications before deployment
* Stay informed of trends in port community systems, ARMG automation, and OCR technology for strategic recommendations
Required Skills and Experience
* Advanced PL/SQL development including packages, triggers, and performance tuning
* Hands-on experience with Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports, SQL Loader, and Data Pump
* Solid knowledge of Java (version 8+) and basic understanding of Spring Framework
* Familiarity with EDI/XML/JSON processing and event-driven middleware
* Integration experience with TOS systems like Zodiac or Navis and PCS standards
* Experience interfacing with automated port equipment such as OCR gates, ARMGs, VMTs
* Basic Oracle database administration including schemas, user roles, and backup methods
* Strong analytical and documentation skills with a focus on efficiency and quality
