Sr Engineer, Application Development - Exciting Opportunity in Packaging Solutions
About the Role:
Join our dynamic team as a Senior Engineer in Application Development, specializing in packaging solutions at Borouge. Reporting to the Head of Application Development for Packaging Asia South, you will play a crucial role in providing technical support to our customers within the packaging manufacturing sector and its value chain. Your responsibilities include business development, troubleshooting, addressing quality inquiries, assisting in new product trials, and providing comprehensive technical documentation.
You will propose and occasionally oversee Application Development Projects, either collaboratively with customers or internally, aimed at uncovering new business opportunities to expand Borouge\'s innovative offerings. Your insights will also be vital in identifying new customer needs to fuel product innovation ideas that contribute to our forward-thinking Packaging strategy.
As a key player in our Marketing and Sales initiatives, you will promote Borouge\'s packaging solutions through various activities, including technical presentations at trade and industry events. This role is based in Mumbai and offers a unique opportunity to make an impact in the packaging industry.
Key Accountabilities:
Industry Knowledge
Gain a solid understanding of key products used by packaging manufacturers in the Southeast Asia (SEA) and Indian Subcontinent (ISC) regions, along with raw material portfolios from both global and domestic suppliers.
Stay informed on processing technologies adopted by customers in SEA and ISC, and understand key project requirements.
Marketing Technical Support
Continuously build knowledge by staying updated on technical and procedural aspects of your role.
Participate in the innovation cycle of product development and optimization by identifying market needs, executing trials, and validating results with customers.
Consolidate crucial information regarding market requirements, end-use applications, and competitive studies for internal review.
Proactively engage and contribute to multi-functional teams on various initiatives and task forces.
Product and Process Knowledge
Demonstrate both theoretical and practical expertise in polyolefin packaging processing technology.
Possess in-depth knowledge of polyolefin materials, their characteristics, behavior, and performance.
Building Customer and Partner Relationships
Provide expert technical support and recommend Borouge\'s packaging solutions to existing and prospective customers, aligning with our business strategy.
Address and resolve technical issues related to the processing and performance of Borouge\'s products.
Establish and foster relationships with key value chain partners in the polyolefin packaging industry, including technology and equipment suppliers, additives suppliers, and trade associations.
About You:
You hold a university degree in Chemical Engineering or a related science/engineering discipline, with a preference for a Master’s degree in Polymer Chemistry, Technology, or Chemical Engineering.
Fluency in English is essential.
With a minimum of 5-10 years of relevant experience in polyolefin packaging manufacturing and/or technology provision, you possess strong technical expertise in this area, coupled with in-depth market and value chain knowledge.
You have a proven track record of understanding and influencing the value chain.
As a team player, you exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills, making you a collaborative asset to our organization.
