The role owns the technical direction, engineering quality, integration readiness, and compliance alignment of customer-facing and corporate banking channels while supporting secure, scalable, and high-volume transaction systems.

Key Responsibilities
* Own the technical delivery and ongoing evolution of retail, mobile, internet banking, corporate banking, host-to-host, API, payments, and cash management channels.
* Lead solution design for mobile banking journeys covering transfers, bill payments, QR payments, mobile payments, authentication, biometrics, tokenization, and fraud controls.
* Guide the architecture of corporate cash management platforms, including payments, collections, liquidity management, pooling, account services, balance reporting, and ERP integrations.
* Ensure corporate banking workflows support straight-through processing, cut-off times, settlement cycles, reconciliation, operational controls, and regulatory requirements.
* Provide technical leadership across UAE payment rails including UAEFTS, RTGS, IPP, Aani, WPS, Direct Debit, Cheque Imaging Systems, and related payment ecosystems.
* Support SWIFT messaging, MT formats, ISO 20022 MX standards, SWIFT gpi, cross-border payments, sanctions screening, settlement, and reconciliation requirements.
* Contribute to CBDC, digital currency, and central bank payment innovation initiatives where applicable.
* Design and review integration architecture involving core banking, payments hubs, AML, fraud, cards, trade finance, treasury, CRM, and enterprise middleware platforms.
* Promote API-first, microservices, event-driven architecture, messaging queues, and scalable backend service orchestration across banking channels.
* Review technical designs, code quality, performance standards, security controls, scalability plans, and operational readiness for high-volume transaction systems.
* Guide engineering teams working with Java, Spring Boot, .NET, DevOps, CI-CD, OpenShift, Kubernetes, cloud-native platforms, and enterprise development frameworks.
* Ensure mobile and digital channels meet uptime, performance, security hardening, customer experience, data privacy, and regulatory expectations.
* Align channel and payment solutions with CBUAE regulations, AML, KYC, sanctions, fraud controls, technology risk, operational resilience, and information security standards.
* Support regulatory audits, technology risk reviews, remediation programmes, production readiness checks, and platform governance activities.
* Work with business, product, operations, compliance, risk, architecture, cybersecurity, vendors, and engineering teams to deliver secure and compliant banking solutions.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or an equivalent discipline.
* Strong experience leading technology delivery for retail banking, mobile banking, corporate banking, payments, or cash management platforms.
* Proven background in UAE banking environments with strong understanding of local regulations, payment rails, supervisory expectations, and compliance frameworks.
* Hands-on development background using Java, Spring Boot, .NET, or equivalent enterprise technology platforms.
* Deep knowledge of mobile banking platforms, customer-facing digital journeys, backend orchestration, secure authentication, tokenization, biometrics, and fraud controls.
* Strong technical understanding of corporate cash management, host-to-host integration, ERP connectivity, MT940, ISO 20022, account reporting, liquidity, and reconciliation.
* Experience with SWIFT, UAEFTS, RTGS, IPP, Aani, WPS, Direct Debit, Cheque Imaging, cross-border payments, and payment settlement processes.
* Strong architecture experience across APIs, microservices, middleware, messaging queues, event-driven design, high availability, and mission-critical banking systems.
* Ability to guide engineering teams, review code, challenge technical designs, and enforce performance, security, and scalability standards.
* Familiarity with DevOps, CI-CD pipelines, OpenShift, Kubernetes, cloud-native platforms, and secure release practices.
* Experience supporting audits, technology risk reviews, operational resilience, regulatory remediation, AML, KYC, sanctions, and fraud-related requirements.
* Certifications such as TOGAF, PMP, Prince2, cloud certifications, or payments-related credentials will be an advantage.
