Role Context
The Reliability Engineer - Asset Integrity will play an important role in maintaining and improving the reliability process across technical services and maintenance operations. This position focuses on building structured reliability systems, reviewing equipment failure trends, supporting engineering solutions, and guiding teams on Root Cause Analysis and Reliability Centered Maintenance practices. The role directly contributes to higher asset availability, safer operations, reduced downtime, improved cost control, and long-term operational excellence in a demanding Oil and Energy environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement a Reliability Management System that supports a structured, consistent, and multi-discipline approach to reliability and integrity improvement.
* Provide technical guidance for Reliability Centered Maintenance activities and help ensure reliability processes are properly established and maintained.
* Analyze equipment performance, failure records, corrective maintenance history, and recurring breakdown trends to identify improvement opportunities.
* Coordinate and facilitate Reliability Centered Maintenance and Instrument Protective Function analysis to optimize equipment and system maintenance strategies.
* Introduce Root Cause Analysis techniques and support equipment failure investigations with clear methodology, documentation, and follow-up actions.
* Establish and maintain a Reliability, Availability, and Integrity threats database on the shared server for better visibility, tracking, and decision-making.
* Develop reliability, availability, and integrity improvement plans in coordination with Maintenance Group Section Heads and Maintenance Section Heads.
* Participate in the development of engineering and technical solutions that improve reliability performance across systems, rotating equipment, static equipment, and critical plant assets.
* Identify chronic equipment failure modes, recurring component issues, and operational weaknesses that affect reliability, safety, and production continuity.
* Recommend economical long-term solutions to reduce repeated failures, extend equipment life, and improve maintainability.
* Provide guidance on Root Cause Analysis methodology, reliability software usage, recommendation tracking, and implementation of corrective actions.
* Track recommendations from investigations and reliability studies to ensure practical actions are completed within agreed timelines.
* Plan, supervise, and coordinate assigned reliability activities to meet functional objectives and section performance targets.
* Support the training and development of assigned staff by sharing technical knowledge, reliability methods, and maintenance improvement practices.
* Provide input for functional budgets, approved work plans, cost control reviews, and performance improvement initiatives.
* Investigate and highlight significant budget or performance variances to support effective decision-making and operational control.
* Implement approved section and department policies, procedures, standards, systems, and work processes in line with company and international requirements.
* Contribute to performance management objectives by supporting reliability KPIs, maintenance effectiveness, and technical service improvement plans.
* Design and apply new tools, methods, and techniques that improve the quality, efficiency, and reliability of operational processes.
* Identify internal process improvements against industry best practices and recommend intelligent solutions for technical challenges.
* Comply with HSE policies, procedures, controls, sustainability guidelines, applicable legislation, and ADNOC Code of Practices.
* Prepare inputs for section MIS reports, reliability progress updates, performance summaries, and management reporting requirements.
* Coordinate with line managers, peers, engineering teams, maintenance teams, consultants, third-party service providers, and government agencies when required.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent engineering discipline.
* Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in reliability engineering, maintenance engineering, asset integrity, technical services, or plant engineering.
* Strong background in Oil and Energy operations, preferably within refinery, petrochemical, gas processing, upstream, downstream, or heavy industrial environments.
* Practical knowledge of Reliability Management Systems, Reliability Centered Maintenance, Instrument Protective Function analysis, and asset integrity improvement.
* Experience analyzing equipment failures, corrective maintenance data, performance trends, and chronic failure patterns.
* Good understanding of Root Cause Analysis methodology, failure investigation tools, corrective action tracking, and recommendation implementation.
* Ability to work with maintenance, engineering, operations, inspection, HSE, and technical services teams in a multi-discipline environment.
* Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to recommend cost-effective long-term reliability solutions.
* Capable of preparing technical reports, reliability summaries, management inputs, and performance improvement documentation.
* Knowledge of policies, systems, procedures, HSE requirements, sustainability standards, and international engineering practices.
* Professional certifications in reliability, maintenance, asset management, Root Cause Analysis, or related technical fields will be an advantage where applicable.
* Comfortable working mainly in an air-conditioned office environment with occasional site visits that may involve exposure to heat, humidity, and dust.
