Job Description
The Product Owner - AI, IoT & Data Platform is responsible for leading and managing all data-related platforms at Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA). This role involves strategic planning, cross-functional collaboration, and operational leadership to drive innovation and efficiency. The position requires staying ahead of emerging AI and data technologies, optimizing data at scale, and enabling secure data sharing across organizations to unlock new digital revenue streams. The Product Owner will develop and execute a multi-year product vision that delivers maximum business value while ensuring alignment with the company\'s strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic plans for AI, IoT, and data platform initiatives
- Align project goals with business objectives to maximize value and impact
- Lead and mentor a team of developers, data scientists, and engineers to foster a high-performance culture
- Oversee project execution, ensuring timely delivery within budget and quality standards
- Evaluate emerging AI, IoT, and data trends, recommending innovative solutions for business growth
- Work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure alignment with business goals
- Monitor performance metrics, identifying and addressing operational bottlenecks
- Implement robust security and compliance measures to protect data and infrastructure
- Manage project budgets, ensuring efficient resource allocation and cost control
- Promote continuous improvement through stakeholder feedback and lessons learned from past projects
- Ensure comprehensive documentation of solutions, best practices, and standard operating procedures
- Provide training and guidance to team members and other stakeholders on AI and data platform usage
Authority and Decision-Making
- Approve and prioritize AI, IoT, and data platform projects based on business needs
- Develop and enforce policies, procedures, and best practices for AI and data governance
- Manage financial authority as per the company\'s board-established guidelines
- Make key decisions impacting the department in consultation with senior management
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect certification is preferred
- Minimum 7-10 years of experience in IT management with a focus on AI, IoT, and data platforms
- Proven expertise in agile project management as a product owner or scrum master
- Formal project management qualifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile Project Management are preferred
- Strong experience in backlog management, user story writing, and release planning
- Proficiency in data platform technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka
- Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Experience managing third-party vendors, consultants, and external partnerships
