Role Context
The position supports the safe and uninterrupted operation of vertical transportation equipment at customer sites. Through preventive servicing, accurate fault
diagnosis, timely repairs, and detailed reporting, the technician will reduce equipment downtime and help extend the operating life of installed systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on elevators, escalators, and related vertical transport equipment.
* Inspect mechanical, electrical, control, safety, and operating components for defects or deterioration.
* Diagnose faults and identify the causes of breakdowns, irregular operation, noise, or performance loss.
* Troubleshoot equipment manufactured by Kone, Schindler, TKE, Otis, and other major brands.
* Complete approved repairs, component replacements, adjustments, and technical modifications.
* Verify safe and reliable equipment operation after servicing or repair work.
* Respond promptly to callbacks and restore affected systems with minimum disruption.
* Carry out additional preventive checks during callback visits to reduce recurring faults.
* Support third-party inspections and recommend corrective work for identified observations.
* Ensure required rectification items are completed and properly documented.
* Explain maintenance progress, repair findings, and system status clearly to customers.
* Maintain accurate service records covering inspections, faults, actions, and replaced components.
* Include photographs, serial numbers, technical readings, and customer signatures in service reports.
* Communicate unresolved concerns, recurring failures, and equipment risks to supervisors or engineers.
* Work with other technicians and departments to coordinate planned maintenance and emergency responses.
* Identify repair or modification opportunities discovered during routine servicing.
* Refer qualified repair leads to the sales team and provide the technical information needed for quotations.
* Remain available for scheduled on-call duties during evenings, nights, weekends, or public holidays.
* Follow local elevator safety codes, industry regulations, work permits, and company procedures.
* Use tools, test instruments, and personal protective equipment correctly at all times.
