Insurance and Risk Officer – GMG – Dubai, UAE
Position Overview
GMG is looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Insurance and Risk Officer to manage the company’s insurance operations and risk assessment processes. This role is responsible for overseeing all insurance-related functions across the organization, including group medical, property, liability, motor fleet, marine, and other insurance classes. The ideal candidate will ensure that all policies are optimized, claims are handled efficiently, and adequate coverage is maintained to protect company assets and operations.

Key Responsibilities
* Manage the full insurance portfolio of the organization, ensuring appropriate coverage across all business units.
* Review existing insurance policies to confirm adequate protection and compliance with legal and operational requirements.
* Conduct risk assessments and develop recommendations for improved coverage and mitigation strategies.
* Coordinate annual policy renewals by collecting and consolidating data on property, stock, and asset values.
* Manage the end-to-end claims process, including claim registration, follow-up, and maintaining detailed claim trackers.
* Liaise with insurers, brokers, and internal departments to resolve policy or claim discrepancies.
* Prepare cost and risk analysis reports for management review before finalizing policy placements.
* Ensure timely renewal of all policies and monitor monthly insurance schedules.
* Conduct quarterly site inspections across warehouses, offices, and outlets to assess safety measures and risk exposure.
* Reconcile insurer statements of accounts and provide detailed reports to finance and department heads.
* Organize employee workshops to explain medical insurance benefits, claims procedures, and coverage details.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Risk Management, or a related discipline.
* 5–8 years of experience in corporate insurance management, preferably within a diversified or retail group.
* In-depth understanding of insurance types including medical, property, liability, motor, and marine.
* Proficiency in policy management, risk assessment, and claims processing.
* Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in managing insurance data and documentation.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); familiarity with insurance management or CRM software is an advantage.
* Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across departments and external partners.
