Role Context
The Insurance Coordinator supports Azizi Developments in protecting major projects, assets, employees, and business operations against insurable risks. The role ensures that appropriate insurance coverage remains in place throughout construction and operational lifecycles while maintaining alignment with project contracts, internal requirements, and applicable regulations.
A significant part of the position involves complex construction insurance. By coordinating with project teams, brokers, insurers, reinsurers, and internal stakeholders, the Insurance Coordinator helps ensure risks associated with high-rise towers, infrastructure works, residential developments, commercial properties, and other major projects are properly identified, insured, documented, and managed.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate and administer corporate and project-related insurance policies across the organization.
* Maintain accurate records of insurance policies, schedules, certificates, endorsements, renewals, and supporting documentation.
* Monitor policy validity and renewal dates to prevent gaps in insurance coverage.
* Assist in arranging appropriate insurance for construction projects, corporate assets, employees, and operational activities.
* Review insurance requirements contained within project contracts and commercial agreements.
* Coordinate with project teams to ensure required insurance coverage is in place before construction activities commence.
* Support construction insurance programs for high-rise towers, infrastructure developments, residential projects, commercial projects, and other complex construction works.
* Assist with implementation and administration of Owner-Controlled Insurance Programs.
* Support Principal-Controlled Insurance Programs across applicable construction projects.
* Coordinate Construction All Risks insurance requirements.
* Support Erection All Risks insurance policies where required by project scope.
* Review project risk exposure and ensure relevant coverage requirements are communicated to insurers and brokers.
* Coordinate motor and non-motor insurance programs.
* Support STRATA-related insurance requirements where applicable.
* Administer medical and life insurance coverage for employees.
* Coordinate Professional Indemnity insurance requirements.
* Support Cyber Liability insurance administration.
* Assist with Directors and Officers insurance coverage.
* Coordinate Workers\' Compensation insurance requirements.
* Support property and asset insurance across corporate and project locations.
* Review insurance policy wordings, exclusions, limits, deductibles, endorsements, and special conditions.
* Verify that policies comply with contractual insurance clauses and internal requirements.
* Coordinate with insurers and brokers on policy issuance, amendments, endorsements, and renewals.
* Maintain ongoing communication with insurance brokers and service providers.
* Work with reinsurers where required for major or complex project risks.
* Support preparation of insurance submissions and underwriting information for new and renewal policies.
* Gather project data, asset information, employee details, valuations, and risk information required by insurers.
* Coordinate insurance requirements with Finance, Legal, Project Management, Construction, HR, Procurement, and other internal departments.
* Assist with claims notification and maintain accurate claims documentation.
* Coordinate claim information between internal stakeholders, insurers, brokers, adjusters, and other relevant parties.
* Monitor claim progress and follow up on outstanding documentation or decisions.
* Support timely settlement of valid insurance claims.
* Maintain claims registers and prepare status updates for management.
* Identify gaps, overlaps, or inconsistencies in existing insurance coverage.
* Recommend improvements to insurance structures where coverage can be strengthened or costs optimized.
* Support insurance cost analysis and renewal negotiations.
* Assist management in evaluating insurance premiums, deductibles, limits, and commercial terms.
* Monitor changes in construction activity or project scope that could affect insurance requirements.
* Ensure material project changes are communicated to insurers and brokers where required.
* Maintain evidence of compliance with contractual and regulatory insurance requirements.
* Support audits and reviews involving insurance records and coverage documentation.
* Prepare regular insurance reports covering policy status, renewals, claims, project coverage, and key risk matters.
* Maintain strict confidentiality when handling claims, employee information, financial records, and sensitive insurance documentation.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor\'s degree in Business Administration, Insurance, Risk Management, or a related discipline.
* Minimum 6 years of progressive experience in insurance management, insurance coordination, or risk management.
* Strong background managing insurance for major construction and real estate projects.
* Proven experience supporting mega projects, high-rise towers, infrastructure works, or other complex developments.
* Hands-on knowledge of Owner-Controlled Insurance Programs.
* Strong experience with Principal-Controlled Insurance Programs.
* Familiarity with Construction All Risks and Erection All Risks policies.
* Practical understanding of Professional Indemnity, Cyber Liability, Directors and Officers, Workers\' Compensation, medical, life, motor, property, and asset insurance.
* Strong knowledge of insurance policy clauses, wordings, exclusions, limits, and endorsements.
* Experience reviewing contractual insurance requirements.
* Proven ability to work with developers, insurers, brokers, reinsurers, adjusters, consultants, and project teams.
* Experience coordinating claims and maintaining supporting documentation.
* Strong understanding of insurance regulatory compliance.
* Able to evaluate insurance risks associated with construction and operational activities.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
* Comfortable managing multiple insurance policies, renewals, and claims simultaneously.
* Strong attention to detail when reviewing policy terms and contractual requirements.
* Professional certification such as ACII or AIII is highly preferred.
