Role Context
This is a working management position combining
The scope extends across multiple markets and requires solutions that can scale without creating fragmented local technology stacks. The manager will remain directly involved in engineering work while developing a small IT engineering team, improving automation, strengthening vendor partnerships, and establishing documentation that makes technical knowledge repeatable.
Product, ordering, rider-facing, and vendor-facing operational platforms remain outside this role. For core technologies supplied centrally through Delivery Hero, the manager owns talabat\'s local implementation and acts as the engineering interface with central platform teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Own endpoint strategy across macOS and Windows environments, covering provisioning, configuration, security, maintenance, and lifecycle management.
* Administer MDM platforms including Jamf, Microsoft Intune, JumpCloud, or equivalent enterprise device management technologies.
* Establish endpoint security baselines covering encryption, patching, compliance posture, inventory, and configuration standards.
* Manage the complete device lifecycle from procurement and employee provisioning through replacement, offboarding, and asset recovery.
* Partner with Security teams to maintain appropriate endpoint protection and compliance standards.
* Own administration of enterprise SaaS platforms including Google Workspace, Slack, Atlassian, and comparable employee productivity applications.
* Control SaaS configuration, licensing, integrations, utilization, renewals, and cost optimization.
* Evaluate new workplace applications and manage their technical onboarding while identifying redundant tools for consolidation or retirement.
* Manage local instances of centrally provided enterprise platforms and coordinate technical requirements with Delivery Hero teams.
* Support deployment and management of Power User Communities across applicable entities.
* Administer SSO, MFA, and identity platforms such as Okta, Microsoft Entra, Google, or comparable solutions.
* Own Joiner-Mover-Leaver processes covering account provisioning, deprovisioning, role changes, access removal, and employee transitions.
* Implement role-based access controls, least-privilege principles, and periodic access reviews.
* Automate identity and access workflows wherever repeatable manual processes can be eliminated.
* Build operational automation using Python, Bash, PowerShell, APIs, AI tooling, and other appropriate technologies.
* Identify repetitive support and administration tasks and replace them with reliable automated workflows.
* Promote practical adoption of AI tools across the IT engineering team to increase capacity without unnecessary headcount growth.
* Own incident response and on-call processes for the Enterprise Applications domain.
* Act as an escalation point for significant incidents, including peak-period and out-of-hours technical issues.
* Coordinate incident communication and work across IT domains when failures affect multiple technology areas.
* Conduct root-cause analysis and implement permanent corrective measures rather than relying on recurring workarounds.
* Design systems with resilience, recovery, security, and failure scenarios considered from the outset.
* Define IT service standards, SLAs, operational metrics, and service quality expectations.
* Improve ITSM and ticketing workflows to reduce employee friction and increase support efficiency.
* Maintain a consistent support model across locations, markets, and time zones.
* Champion structured change management for enterprise application deployments and transitions.
* Support SOC 2, ISO 27001, access review, audit evidence, and other compliance requirements in partnership with Security and central teams.
* Standardize technology solutions before regional scaling while allowing justified local requirements without unnecessary fragmentation.
* Lead and coach a small IT engineering team while remaining directly engaged in technical delivery.
* Establish engineering standards, provide mentorship, share knowledge, and support professional development.
* Build runbooks, technical documentation, training materials, and employee self-service resources.
* Manage vendors, procurement processes, contracts, renewals, and strategic technology partnerships.
* Challenge licensing and supplier costs through structured evaluation and commercial negotiation.
* Deliver concurrent enterprise IT projects within agreed timelines, budgets, and technical standards.
Ideal Profile
The role requires 5-7+ years of experience across corporate IT, IT engineering, or IT operations, ideally supporting enterprise environments with more than 5000 users. Candidates should bring substantial hands-on knowledge rather than relying solely on management experience.
Strong technical capability across endpoint management, enterprise SaaS, and identity platforms is essential. Practical experience with Jamf, Microsoft Intune, JumpCloud, Okta, Microsoft Entra, Google Workspace, Slack, and Atlassian is particularly relevant.
Candidates should be comfortable scripting with Python, Bash, or PowerShell and able to demonstrate automation that has removed repetitive operational work. Regular practical use of AI tooling for IT engineering, administration, documentation, or workflow improvement is expected.
Experience should also cover requirements gathering, business process analysis, solution design, enterprise application security, vendor management, licensing negotiations, and complex project delivery.
The successful candidate will be capable of operating autonomously, establishing clear technical ownership, and influencing stakeholders without relying on formal authority. Previous team leadership or mentoring experience is required, together with genuine interest in developing engineers and raising technical standards.
A documentation-first approach, strong employee service mindset, and ability to collaborate with central platform teams and adjacent engineering domains are important for success.
