The position will ensure consistent teaching standards, safe programme delivery, effective assessment, staff development, and responsible use of sports facilities, equipment, and departmental budgets.
Working with PE teachers, school leaders, external coaches, sports organizations, and service providers, the coordinator will create a well-structured programme that supports physical development, healthy lifestyles, student engagement, and competitive sporting opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the planning, delivery, monitoring, and evaluation of the physical education curriculum.
* Supervise PE teachers and maintain consistent standards across lessons and activities.
* Support teachers with curriculum planning, instructional strategies, assessment, and classroom management.
* Conduct lesson observations and provide practical developmental feedback.
* Develop age-appropriate programmes that promote fitness, coordination, health education, teamwork, and sports skills.
* Design assessment frameworks to monitor student progress and physical development.
* Review student participation, attainment, and engagement data to identify improvement priorities.
* Coordinate sports schedules, training sessions, tournaments, competitions, and inter-school events.
