Role Context
The Program Manager - Catalog Experience will protect and improve the quality of product listings available through Amazon Now. The role will examine the systems, processes, and data that determine how products appear to customers, including titles, descriptions, images, attributes, category placement, availability, and search relevance.
Working with vendors, category specialists, operations teams, technology teams, and worldwide catalog experts, the manager will investigate defects and develop corrective and preventive actions. The position will also introduce dashboards, automated controls, and standardized procedures that reduce recurring discrepancies and improve the reliability of catalog workflows.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure that new and existing product listings meet Amazon Now catalog requirements and customer-experience standards.
* Review product titles, descriptions, attributes, images, classifications, and other listing information for accuracy and completeness.
* Identify catalog defects that could affect product discoverability, customer understanding, search performance, or purchasing decisions.
* Investigate missing, incorrect, duplicated, inconsistent, or misleading product information.
* Troubleshoot product-flow issues and coordinate timely resolution with relevant operational and technical teams.
* Examine the systems and processes that affect how products are created, updated, displayed, and made available to customers.
* Determine the root causes of catalog discrepancies and implement corrective and preventive actions.
* Work with vendors to establish efficient catalog submission, validation, correction, and maintenance processes.
* Develop clear standard operating procedures for product onboarding and catalog management.
* Help vendors understand listing requirements, quality standards, and approved data formats.
* Collaborate with internal teams to improve tools and processes supporting catalog workflows.
* Partner with category specialists and worldwide subject matter experts to resolve complex product-data issues.
* Work with technology teams to define system requirements and prioritize catalog improvements.
* Identify opportunities to automate manual checks, defect detection, reporting, and issue resolution.
* Use data analysis to evaluate catalog quality, search performance, operational accuracy, and customer impact.
* Apply SQL and advanced Microsoft Excel to analyze large product and process datasets.
* Build dashboards and reports that track listing accuracy, defect rates, resolution progress, and customer-experience indicators.
* Establish meaningful performance measures that show whether catalog initiatives are delivering expected results.
* Share relevant metrics, lessons, and effective practices across business teams.
* Manage communications covering operational milestones, process changes, risks, and escalations.
* Coordinate with multiple lines of business to maintain alignment on catalog priorities and improvement programs.
* Proactively identify emerging customer-experience concerns and product-listing opportunities.
* Escalate significant defects that require cross-functional or technical intervention.
* Prepare data-backed recommendations for business reviews and senior stakeholder discussions.
* Track projects from initial analysis through implementation, adoption, and post-launch measurement.
* Ensure implemented solutions remain effective and scalable as Amazon Now expands.
Ideal Profile
* At least 2 years of program management or project management experience.
* Practical SQL knowledge for extracting, joining, filtering, and analyzing business data.
* Advanced Microsoft Excel capability, including array formulas and statistical functions.
* Experience using data and metrics to influence business decisions.
* Proven ability to create process improvements through analysis and automation.
* Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate complex operational or system issues.
* Experience working across catalog management, e-commerce operations, product data, or customer experience is advantageous.
* Ability to coordinate with vendors, operations teams, category specialists, product managers, and technology teams.
* Strong stakeholder-management and written communication skills.
* Ability to manage several workstreams, deadlines, and escalations simultaneously.
