Role Context
The Senior Manager - Business Development MEA will help shape how Amazon expands consumer subscription services through external distribution partners across the region. The role blends strategic business development with senior account management, requiring ownership of both new deal creation and the continued growth of existing partner relationships.
The position will work across Amazon businesses including Product, Prime, Retail, and other commercial teams to identify partnership models that create long-term value. Success will depend on understanding local market dynamics, aligning multiple internal stakeholders, navigating complex negotiations, and building agreements that scale across partner ecosystems.
The manager will also serve as a senior commercial interface with telecommunications operators and other strategic organizations, ensuring partnerships remain commercially attractive, operationally viable, and aligned with wider Amazon objectives.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop country-specific business development strategies across the Middle East and Africa in partnership with internal Amazon teams.
* Identify high-potential distribution opportunities for Amazon consumer subscription services.
* Focus particularly on strategic growth opportunities in Turkey and Saudi Arabia.
* Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective partners across telecommunications and other relevant industries.
* Own senior relationships with existing strategic partner accounts.
* Develop trusted relationships with partner executives and key commercial decision-makers.
* Lead regular Quarterly Business Reviews with strategic partners.
* Evaluate existing agreements and identify opportunities for optimization, expansion, or renegotiation.
* Manage the complete partnership lifecycle from initial outreach and business case development through negotiation and signed agreement.
* Negotiate complex commercial and strategic partnership agreements across assigned markets.
* Coordinate internal approvals required for new partnership opportunities.
* Lead commercial and operational due diligence before agreements are finalized.
* Prepare written business documents that clearly explain opportunity size, strategic rationale, commercial structure, risks, and stakeholder requirements.
* Ensure proposed deals address the needs of Product, Prime, Retail, Finance, Legal, and other relevant Amazon teams.
* Develop new business models that use partner ecosystems to create sustainable subscription growth.
* Coordinate with other Amazon business development teams to leverage established market relationships.
* Present a consistent Amazon partnership strategy when multiple internal teams engage with the same external organization.
* Influence internal stakeholders to build alignment around strategic commercial opportunities.
* Manage cross-functional programs associated with partnership development and launch.
* Coordinate processes, dependencies, and release schedules required to activate new partnerships.
* Identify issues that could delay deal execution and work across teams to remove blockers.
* Maintain commercial awareness of the interaction between individual partner agreements and wider Amazon business priorities.
* Track partnership performance and identify opportunities to increase value after launch.
* Support long-term growth through structured account planning and strategic partner development.
Ideal Profile
Candidates should hold a bachelor\'s degree and have substantial experience in Go-To-Market, Business Development, Sales, Consulting, strategic partnerships, or a related commercial field.
The role requires experience creating strategies that influence organizational-level leadership decisions. Candidates should be comfortable developing recommendations from incomplete or complex market information and gaining support from senior decision-makers.
Strong experience negotiating and executing corporate or business transactions is essential. The successful candidate should be capable of managing discussions involving commercial terms, operational requirements, multiple stakeholders, and complex approval processes.
Experience managing cross-functional programs, establishing processes, and coordinating launch or release schedules is also important.
Candidates should demonstrate the ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders and maintain productive relationships through lengthy or challenging negotiations.
Experience identifying, negotiating, and executing complex legal agreements is preferred.
Fluency in spoken, written, and read Arabic is advantageous, while Turkish language proficiency is also preferred given the geographic focus of the position.
