Key Responsibilities
* Support individual pupils and groups inside and outside the classroom during lessons, activities, and daily school routines.
* Assist class teachers in creating a positive, organised, and
engaging learning environment.
* Help pupils with social, emotional, physical, and behavioural development where additional support is needed.
* Assist in the implementation of individual education programmes and monitor pupil progress under teacher guidance.
* Prepare and present displays of pupils’ work to support classroom learning and student confidence.
* Help teachers with photocopying, classroom materials, learning resources, and other teaching support tasks.
* Monitor assigned classwork, keep pupils focused, and provide encouragement during learning activities.
* Support group instruction and individual instruction as directed by the teacher.
* Supervise pupils in classrooms, corridors, activity areas, and other school locations.
* Assist with attendance checks, end-of-day classroom organisation, and daily learning routines.
* Report pupil progress, concerns, and achievements to the class teacher when required.
* Follow school policies on behaviour, health and safety, safeguarding, attendance, and professional conduct.
* Attend team meetings, staff meetings, and relevant professional discussions as required.
* Work with specialists such as speech therapists and occupational therapists when needed.
* Support school aims, values, and wider activities as directed by the principal.
Ideal Profile
* Minimum secondary school certificate.
* At least 2 years of experience in a school environment.
* Good English language skills or strong ability in the language used within the school curriculum.
* Experience supporting pupils in classroom activities, group learning, and daily school routines.
* Ability to work respectfully with teachers, pupils, parents, support staff, and school leaders.
* Patient and positive approach to helping children stay focused, confident, and motivated.
* Understanding of classroom behaviour support and student wellbeing.
* Reliable professional standards in punctuality, dress, attendance, and conduct.
* Ability to follow instructions, school policies, and teacher-led learning plans.
