Assistant Procurement Manager - Strategic Sourcing & Vendor Management

As an Assistant Procurement Manager, you will play a key role in overseeing end-to-end sourcing, negotiating with suppliers, and managing a team of procurement executives to ensure seamless procurement operations. Responsibilities:
- Lead the procurement process by reviewing sourcing specifications, identifying suppliers, evaluating quotes, and conducting background checks to ensure the best procurement options.
- Prepare and issue accurate and timely Purchase Orders (POs).
- Work closely with budget owners to ensure compliance and document uploads in the procurement system.
- Source equipment and repair services, negotiating favorable terms and securing the most competitive pricing.
- Ensure timely and contract-compliant delivery of goods and services, providing weekly status updates.
- Maintain accurate records of all orders, payments, and received stock.
- Provide management with data-driven reports on purchasing activities, including cost analyses across different procurement categories.
- Work closely with the Finance team to ensure timely payments to suppliers in line with agreed terms.
- Ensure full compliance with procurement policies and approval processes as per the Delegation of Authority Manual.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, monitoring lead times and expediting outstanding orders.
- Assist the Director of Operations in overseeing procurement activities and tracking team performance.
- Manage and lead a team of procurement executives, efficiently delegating tasks and providing guidance on best practices.
- Train and mentor team members to enhance procurement efficiency and adherence to company policies.
- Provide timely reports to the Director of Operations with key procurement insights and updates.
- Support strategic procurement planning by analyzing purchasing data to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Maintain open communication with internal and external stakeholders to ensure procurement priorities align with business goals.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement management, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and meet tight timelines.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for supplier and internal team coordination.
- Strong time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
