Role Context
The Operations Lead will support Amazon Now, a developing fast-delivery model designed to strengthen customer convenience across MENA. The role will oversee end-to-end daily operations across either one large site or a combination of smaller locations while coordinating store operations and last-mile Delivery Service Partners.
This position combines people leadership, operational control, performance management, and continuous improvement. The Operations Lead will monitor productivity, quality, attendance, safety, and delivery performance while ensuring Amazon policies are applied fairly and consistently.
The role also provides leadership continuity by acting as a stand-in for the Area Manager when required.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage end-to-end daily operations across an assigned Amazon Now site or group of smaller locations.
* Supervise third-party store operations and support reliable last-mile delivery execution.
* Coordinate with Delivery Service Partners to maintain expected service and performance standards.
* Monitor customer-facing operational metrics and take action when results fall below target.
* Maintain cost expectations while protecting safety, quality, productivity, and team morale.
* Lead associates through regular coaching, feedback, and clear performance expectations.
* Track under-the-roof and on-the-road productivity, quality, and safety performance.
* Ensure attendance policies and other operational requirements are administered consistently.
* Prepare and implement training and development plans for associates.
* Identify operational gaps and introduce practical process improvements that produce sustained results.
* Conduct daily 4M audits covering manpower, machines, materials, and operating methods.
* Perform 5S audits to maintain organized, safe, and efficient store environments.
* Analyze operational data to identify performance trends and recurring problems.
* Apply structured problem solving to address productivity, service, or quality issues.
* Maintain clear reporting and communicate important operational information to relevant stakeholders.
* Support workforce planning and resource allocation according to daily operational demand.
* Work closely with internal teams and external partners to remove execution barriers.
* Step in for the Area Manager when additional leadership coverage is required.
Ideal Profile
Candidates must be fluent in spoken, written, and read English.
The preferred candidate will bring one to three years of experience managing people and operational processes in a lead or supervisory capacity.
Strong people management capability is important because the position requires daily coaching, performance monitoring, training support, and clear communication with frontline teams.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills are also preferred. Candidates should be comfortable reviewing performance metrics, identifying operational issues, and taking timely corrective action.
Previous exposure to logistics, retail operations, delivery services, store operations, fulfillment, or another fast-paced operational environment would be valuable.
