The supervisor will work closely with internal support teams and Delivery Service Providers to resolve operational issues, improve service standards, and maintain consistent execution throughout each shift.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Operations Manager with day-to-day control of delivery station activities.
* Deputize for the Operations Manager when required and maintain continuity of operational leadership.
* Promote safe working practices and continuously identify opportunities to improve workplace safety.
* Supervise logistics assistants, coordinators, drivers, and delivery associates across assigned shifts.
* Monitor shipment flow and ensure deliveries are processed in line with operational KPIs and service expectations.
* Review coordinator and associate performance and provide coaching when improvement is required.
* Brief drivers and associates on workloads, priorities, safety requirements, and shift expectations.
* Monitor workload distribution throughout the shift and adjust resources when operational conditions change.
* Partner with internal support functions to improve logistics processes and resolve recurring operational issues.
* Communicate with Delivery Service Providers regarding service expectations, quality standards, and performance concerns.
* Track daily workflows, site metrics, productivity levels, and operational exceptions.
* Assist with regular reporting, trend analysis, and performance updates for delivery station management.
* Maintain accurate completion of administrative tasks associated with workforce and operational activities.
* Interview candidates for associate-level positions when required.
* Train and mentor new associates so they understand operating procedures, safety requirements, and performance expectations.
* Follow up on process-related issues and coordinate corrective action until problems are fully resolved.
* Identify training needs and support appropriate development plans for team members.
* Assist with absence management, performance management, coaching, and workforce planning.
* Monitor department productivity and identify practical opportunities for continuous improvement.
* Support appropriate staffing levels based on workload, operational demand, and shift requirements.
* Work flexibly across different shifts and provide overtime support when business needs require additional coverage.
Ideal Profile
Candidates should have practical experience managing teams in an operational environment and be comfortable supervising frontline employees across changing workloads and priorities.
Experience with planning, operational performance metrics, workforce coordination, and process improvement is required. The role suits someone who can interpret site performance data, identify gaps, and take practical action to improve execution.
Previous logistics or delivery operations experience is preferred, particularly within last-mile delivery, warehouse, distribution, transportation, or high-volume operational environments.
