The Regulatory Compliance Manager will provide end-to-end compliance oversight as Amazon Now expands its engineering infrastructure and operational footprint across the UAE. The role covers the complete project lifecycle, from initial due diligence and technical reviews through permit acquisition, facility launch, ongoing operations, and regulatory renewals.
This position serves as a bridge between engineering teams, business functions, external consultants, project stakeholders, and government authorities. The manager will help identify regulatory requirements early, prevent compliance gaps from delaying projects, and create repeatable controls that support faster and more reliable expansion.
The role also carries responsibility for interpreting complex technical and regulatory requirements, maintaining auditable documentation, and advising stakeholders when projects encounter uncertainty or competing compliance considerations.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage engineering and regulatory compliance throughout project development, construction, launch, and ongoing operations.
* Lead due diligence activities to identify regulatory obligations, technical risks, permitting requirements, and potential compliance barriers.
* Coordinate permit applications, approvals, renewals, and related regulatory documentation.
* Develop compliance frameworks aligned with applicable UAE regulatory requirements and Amazon operating standards.
* Establish practical compliance protocols that can be applied consistently across Amazon Now facilities.
* Review technical drawings, engineering proposals, specifications, and facility solutions for regulatory compliance.
* Confirm that projects appropriately address building codes, operational regulations, technical standards, and authority requirements.
* Identify compliance risks during early project stages and coordinate mitigation actions before they affect delivery schedules.
* Maintain centralized records covering permits, approvals, assessments, correspondence, renewals, and supporting compliance evidence.
* Establish tracking mechanisms for regulatory deadlines and recurring compliance obligations.
* Provide technical compliance guidance to engineering, operations, project, and external partner teams.
* Work with cross-functional stakeholders to resolve regulatory uncertainties and develop compliant project solutions.
* Build and maintain constructive relationships with relevant regulatory authorities.
* Coordinate technical compliance audits, assessments, inspections, and remediation activities.
* Work with internal business functions to ensure audit findings and compliance actions are addressed within agreed timelines.
* Monitor changing regulatory requirements and assess their potential impact on Amazon Now projects and facilities.
