Role Context
This role contributes to maintaining operational integrity by performing compliance investigations, validating screening alerts, and ensuring adherence to AML and sanctions regulations. It plays a critical role in protecting business operations from financial and regulatory risks.
Key Responsibilities
* Investigate sanctions matches and denied party screening alerts across multiple business units
* Conduct customer due diligence and KYC reviews to assess compliance risks
* Analyze transactions, accounts, and escalations to determine risk exposure
* Perform first-level reviews of screening system escalations with high accuracy
* Support audit processes and respond to external compliance inquiries
* Identify operational gaps and recommend corrective actions and remediation steps
* Assist in improving compliance workflows and escalation handling processes
* Monitor performance against KPIs and productivity targets
* Collaborate with operations and compliance teams to strengthen internal controls
* Provide guidance and support to investigators and operational teams
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 2+ years of experience in risk or fraud investigations
* Strong understanding of AML regulations including BSA and OFAC requirements
* Proven ability to handle complex investigations and compliance escalations
* Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
* Ability to work independently and make accurate decisions under pressure
* Experience working with cross-functional teams in a global environment
* Fluency in Japanese at business level preferred
* Advanced Excel skills considered an advantage
