Job Overview
The Senior Electrical Engineer will support crane system development from concept to commissioning, including electrical design, project estimation, control system programming, and maintenance planning. This position plays a vital role in delivering reliable and innovative engineering solutions to support DP World’s advanced terminal operations and global supply chain systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel designs for cranes and port systems
* Select and configure electrical components including motors, drives, sensors, and PLCs
* Lead electrical engineering aspects of reefer racks, substations, and crane modernization projects
* Collaborate with project managers and mechanical teams to integrate electrical and automation systems
* Conduct site inspections, troubleshoot electrical faults, and support preventive maintenance strategies
* Ensure compliance with IEC, ISO, IEEE, OSHA, and CE standards for safety and automation
* Review technical specifications, participate in design reviews, and ensure accuracy of cost estimates
* Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and coordinate with OEM vendors
* Implement predictive diagnostics and optimize energy efficiency and crane performance
* Maintain up-to-date electrical documentation and support handover, testing, and final commissioning
Job Requirements
* Bachelor\'s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechatronics Engineering
* Minimum 3 years of experience in port crane projects or industrial automation systems
* Strong PLC programming skills (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, GE) and SCADA/HMI integration
* Knowledge of VFDs, industrial networks (Profibus, Modbus, CANopen), and automation protocols
* Proficiency in substation design, power distribution, and load management
* Ability to interpret technical schematics, drawings, and electrical layouts
* Familiarity with mechanical and hydraulic systems for integrated crane operations
* Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and project coordination skills
* Strong understanding of safety regulations, risk assessments, and cybersecurity in automation
