Role Context
The MEATR Fleet organization manages and expands the vehicles supporting Amazon’s last-mile delivery network across Africa, the Middle East and Türkiye. Accurate fleet planning is critical because vehicle shortages can restrict delivery capacity, while excess or unsuitable assets can increase operating and capital costs.
The Senior Manager will connect strategic planning with practical fleet execution. Decisions made in this role will affect vehicle availability, Delivery Service Partner productivity, network growth, electrification and hundreds of millions of dollars in potential capital investment.
Key Responsibilities
Fleet Demand Planning and Forecasting
* Design scalable models that forecast last-mile vehicle requirements across MEATR.
* Plan for diesel, electric, long-wheelbase, short-wheelbase and specialized vehicles.
* Develop strategic forecasts covering more than 3 years.
* Produce tactical plans covering 12 to 18 months.
* Maintain short-term operational plans for periods below 12 months.
* Consolidate network, finance and operational assumptions into current fleet forecasts.
* Perform scenario analysis for expansion, seasonal demand and market changes.
Strategic Partnerships and Vendor Management
* Build long-term partnerships across the regional transportation ecosystem.
* Work with vehicle manufacturers, rental and leasing companies, upfitting vendors, maintenance providers and parts suppliers.
* Coordinate sourcing activities with the Global Fleet Procurement organization.
* Identify savings through market analysis and competitive benchmarking.
* Evaluate alternative supply channels, including used-vehicle markets.
* Develop opportunities for fleet sharing across countries.
* Improve vendor performance, service reliability and commercial value.
Network Capacity and Supply Chain Optimization
* Balance fleet supply and demand across delivery stations and countries.
* Coordinate short-term vehicle deployment and seasonal capacity adjustments.
* Partner with Finance to prepare for peak requirements.
* Improve capital allocation and operating-expense efficiency.
* Develop Total Cost of Ownership models for fleet decisions.
* Establish mechanisms supporting make, buy or rent evaluations.
* Optimize vehicle mix, asset utilization and investment priorities.
* Address procurement lead times, parts availability and cross-border logistics.
* Monitor fleet reliability, repair costs and supply-chain performance.
Delivery Service Partner Experience
* Establish surveys, focus groups, partner councils and station-based feedback channels.
* Use sentiment analysis and operational data to understand partner experience.
* Identify issues involving reliability, maintenance, administration, cost transparency and training.
* Develop preventive maintenance, roadside assistance and self-service programs.
* Simplify fleet processes and create practical training materials.
* Measure partner satisfaction through Net Promoter Score and adoption indicators.
* Target an annual improvement of 5 Net Promoter Score points.
* Work with Delivery Service Partner Program teams on shared challenges.
Executive Leadership and Program Delivery
* Own executive business reviews and strategic planning sessions.
* Present data-driven recommendations to vice presidents and senior leaders.
* Write business cases using inputs from multiple stakeholder groups.
* Obtain leadership approval for fleet investments and programs.
* Maintain schedules, milestones and transparent status reporting.
* Escalate risks promptly and remove delivery blockers.
* Lead complex cross-functional programs from design through implementation.
* Coach regional fleet teams and introduce consistent audit frameworks.
Innovation and Regional Expansion
* Integrate electric-vehicle requirements into standard fleet planning.
* Account for charging infrastructure, vehicle range and ownership costs.
* Extend fleet-planning processes to new countries and business models.
* Support services such as Sub Same Day and Delivery Service Partner Lite.
* Create reusable playbooks for rapid market entry.
* Design solutions suited to differences in market maturity and data quality.
* Preserve global fleet standards while allowing necessary regional flexibility.
Ideal Profile
The successful candidate will combine advanced analytical capability with commercial judgment and strong stakeholder leadership. They should be equally comfortable developing forecasting models, negotiating with partners, coaching operations teams and presenting investment recommendations to executives.
* MBA.
* At least 6 years of account or relationship management experience.
* Relevant experience may include small-business logistics, retail, vendor or supplier management.
* Strong knowledge of last-mile fleet operations and capacity planning.
* Ability to build multi-year demand and financial models.
* Experience influencing senior leaders and cross-functional organizations.
* Minimum 5 years in supply-chain management, planning, strategic sourcing, commodity management or program management is preferred.
* Understanding of capital expenditure, operating expenditure and Total Cost of Ownership.
* Ability to work with incomplete or inconsistent data across emerging markets.
* Strong written communication and executive presentation skills.
* Willingness to travel approximately 30 percent across the MEATR region.
