Role Context
The Senior Manager will lead strategic fleet planning across the MEATR region, covering the complete vehicle lifecycle from demand forecasting and procurement through deployment, utilization, maintenance, electrification, and partner experience.
The role has significant financial and operational influence. Fleet decisions can affect capital investment, operating costs, service reliability, DSP productivity, and Amazon\'s ability to meet customer demand during normal and peak periods.
This position combines advanced planning, analytics, commercial strategy, executive communication, and program leadership. The manager will work across Operations, Finance, procurement, fleet teams, DSP organizations, vendors, and senior leadership to ensure fleet capacity remains efficient, scalable, and aligned with regional growth.
Key Responsibilities
* Build scalable fleet demand models covering last-mile vehicle requirements across the Middle East, Africa, and Turkey.
* Develop long-term fleet forecasts extending beyond three years to support strategic investment decisions.
* Create 12 to 18 month tactical plans and short-term operating plans covering vehicle deployment and capacity requirements.
* Forecast fleet needs across diesel, electric, long-wheelbase, short-wheelbase, and specialized vehicle configurations.
* Consolidate operational, financial, network, and business assumptions into an integrated fleet planning process.
* Maintain planning models that reflect the latest expansion plans, demand forecasts, and business strategies.
* Develop strategic partnerships with vehicle manufacturers, rental providers, leasing companies, upfitting vendors, maintenance providers, and parts suppliers.
* Work with Global Fleet Procurement on sourcing strategies and commercial negotiations.
* Identify cost-saving opportunities through competitive benchmarking, supplier consolidation, alternative sourcing channels, and regional fleet sharing.
* Evaluate used vehicle markets and other supply options where they improve fleet economics or availability.
* Balance fleet demand and supply across delivery stations and regional markets.
* Coordinate short-term vehicle deployment to address capacity shortages and seasonal demand fluctuations.
* Partner closely with Finance on CAPEX planning, OPEX optimization, budgeting, and investment prioritization.
* Develop Total Cost of Ownership models that support vehicle and sourcing decisions.
* Evaluate make, buy, rent, and lease alternatives using structured financial and operational analysis.
* Optimize fleet composition, asset utilization, and vehicle allocation across markets.
* Monitor procurement lead times, parts availability, maintenance risks, and cross-border logistics constraints.
* Develop mechanisms that improve data-driven fleet decision-making across multiple teams.
* Establish listening channels that capture Delivery Service Partner feedback through surveys, focus groups, direct engagement, and partner councils.
* Analyze DSP feedback alongside operational data to identify recurring fleet-related pain points.
* Prioritize issues involving vehicle reliability, maintenance delays, administrative complexity, cost transparency, and training gaps.
* Develop preventive maintenance, roadside assistance, self-service, training, and other fleet support programs.
* Track DSP satisfaction using Net Promoter Score, program adoption, and qualitative feedback.
* Work with DSP Program teams to ensure partner needs influence fleet strategy and investment decisions.
* Own executive business reviews and fleet strategy discussions with senior leadership.
* Prepare business cases using inputs from Operations, Finance, procurement, regional teams, and external partners.
* Present strategic recommendations supported by data, financial analysis, and operational evidence.
* Maintain transparent project reporting and escalate risks or blockers when intervention is required.
* Integrate electric vehicle planning into standard fleet requirement processes.
* Consider charging infrastructure, vehicle range, operational suitability, and total cost when developing EV strategies.
* Extend fleet planning processes to new business models, including Sub-Same Day and DSP Lite operations.
* Develop repeatable market-entry playbooks that can support expansion into new countries.
* Lead complex, cross-functional programs through their full lifecycle from concept to implementation.
* Build planning mechanisms that can adapt to different levels of market maturity and data availability.
* Maintain global operating standards while allowing practical regional flexibility.
* Travel approximately 30 percent across the MEATR region for operational reviews, stakeholder engagement, and change management activities.
Ideal Profile
Candidates should bring at least six years of experience in account management, relationship management, small business logistics, retail operations, vendor management, supplier management, or a related commercial and operational field.
An MBA is required.
The position is particularly suitable for professionals with strong exposure to supply chain planning, strategic sourcing, fleet operations, transportation, commodity management, or program management.
At least five years of experience in supply chain management, planning, strategic sourcing, commodity management, or program management is preferred.
Candidates should be comfortable building complex forecasting models, analyzing large datasets, challenging assumptions, and translating analytical findings into clear investment and operational decisions.
Strong business judgment is essential because the role involves balancing vehicle availability, capital expenditure, operating cost, utilization, customer demand, partner experience, and long-term growth.
Experience influencing senior leaders and coordinating cross-functional teams across multiple countries will be particularly valuable.
