Job Overview
NAFFCO is seeking a highly skilled Costing Engineer/Industrial Engineer to enhance cost management and production efficiency in our fire truck manufacturing division. This role requires expertise in cost estimation, budgeting, process optimization, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to improve operational performance and profitability.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for fire truck production, covering materials, labor, overheads, and other expenses.
- Analyze historical data and production processes to predict future costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Collaborate with design and engineering teams to ensure cost targets are met.
- Allocate costs accurately to the correct cost centers.
- Assist in preparing and managing manufacturing project budgets.
- Monitor ongoing projects to ensure cost and budget adherence.
- Perform variance analysis and implement corrective actions for deviations.
- Analyze and optimize existing manufacturing processes for efficiency and effectiveness.
- Identify production bottlenecks and develop strategies for workflow improvements.
- Implement lean manufacturing techniques to reduce waste and enhance productivity.
- Work closely with engineering, procurement, and production teams to develop cost-effective production methods.
- Provide technical support in the design phase to ensure manufacturability and cost-effectiveness of new designs and modifications.
- Provide input to the procurement team on material selection, balancing cost and quality.
- Develop and maintain cost tracking and reporting systems for monitoring ongoing and completed projects.
- Prepare detailed cost reports for senior management, highlighting cost trends, savings opportunities, and areas of concern.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality assurance protocols.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement by recommending and implementing new technologies, methodologies, and best practices.
- Conduct time studies and process simulations to identify efficiency gains.
- Monitor the impact of process changes on cost and quality, making necessary adjustments.
Qualifications
**Education**
- Bachelor\'s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Additional certifications in Cost Engineering, Project Management, or Lean Manufacturing would be an advantage.
**Experience**
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in manufacturing or automotive industries.
- Experience with fire truck manufacturing or specialized vehicle production is a plus.
- Proven expertise in costing, budgeting, and process optimization.
**Skills & Competencies**
- Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and manufacturing cost structures.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex production data.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
