Job Overview
As an Interior Design Engineer with BIM expertise, you will be responsible for designing and modeling interior spaces for prefabricated toilet pods. You will work closely with architects, engineers, and production teams to develop functional, aesthetically appealing, and manufacturable designs that meet quality and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed 3D models of prefabricated toilet pod interiors using BIM tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, and SketchUp.
- Create and manage BIM libraries, templates, and families for efficient design standardization.
- Design functional and visually appealing layouts, optimizing space utilization while ensuring compliance with building codes and accessibility standards.
- Select and specify materials, finishes, and fixtures that align with durability, cost, and regulatory requirements, including fire safety and hygiene standards.
- Conduct BIM coordination meetings to resolve design clashes and ensure seamless integration of architectural, structural, and MEP elements.
- Work closely with the production and manufacturing teams to ensure that designs align with factory capabilities and prefabrication processes.
- Generate technical drawings, renderings, finish schedules, and material take-offs from BIM models.
- Conduct quality assurance checks, troubleshoot design-related issues, and ensure all documentation complies with industry regulations.
- Stay updated on the latest trends in interior design, modular construction, and BIM technology to drive continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor\'s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in interior design, preferably in modular construction or prefabrication.
- Expertise in BIM software such as Revit, AutoCAD, and SketchUp.
- Strong understanding of space planning, materials, finishes, and prefabricated interior solutions.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
