Job Overview
As an LGS Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and optimizing light gauge steel structures for prefabricated toilet pods. You will collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, and production teams to ensure structural integrity, safety, and seamless integration with other building systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and analyze LGS structures for prefabricated toilet pods, ensuring compliance with industry standards and UAE regulations.
- Develop detailed structural drawings, calculations, and specifications for LGS components, including frames, walls, floors, and roofs.
- Utilize structural design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla, Vertix, and SAP2000 for modeling and design optimization.
- Perform structural analysis to assess load-bearing capacity, stability, and durability under dead, live, wind, and seismic loads.
- Optimize material usage to enhance cost efficiency and manufacturability while maintaining structural integrity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate LGS structures with plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and other building systems.
- Conduct design reviews to ensure quality, compliance, and adherence to project specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve structural issues during the design and production phases.
- Stay updated on industry advancements in LGS design and modular construction, identifying opportunities for innovation and process improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in LGS structural design, preferably in modular construction or prefabricated systems.
- Proficiency in structural design software, including AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla, Vertix, SAP2000, and equivalent tools.
- Strong understanding of structural engineering principles, material properties, and LGS manufacturing techniques.
- Familiarity with international and UAE building codes and regulations.
