Job Overview
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and managing mechanical systems, including plumbing, HVAC, and drainage, for prefabricated toilet pods. Using advanced BIM software, you will collaborate with structural and electrical engineers to ensure functional, efficient, and compliant mechanical designs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed 3D models of mechanical systems for prefabricated toilet pods using Revit, AutoCAD MEP, and Navisworks.
- Create and manage mechanical families, templates, and libraries specific to modular manufacturing.
- Optimize plumbing, HVAC, and drainage systems to ensure efficiency and compliance with UAE industry standards.
- Collaborate with structural and electrical engineers to integrate mechanical systems seamlessly into pod designs.
- Perform calculations for pipe sizing, ventilation requirements, and water supply systems.
- Conduct BIM coordination meetings to resolve design clashes and streamline production.
- Generate fabrication drawings, assembly instructions, and a bill of materials (BOM).
- Ensure all designs comply with UAE building codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
- Conduct quality assurance reviews and troubleshoot design or production issues.
- Stay updated with BIM technologies and methodologies to enhance efficiency and product quality.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design engineering, preferably in modular construction or prefabrication.
- Proven expertise in BIM software, including Revit, AutoCAD MEP, and Navisworks.
- Strong knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, and drainage systems.
- Experience in modular construction techniques and prefabrication processes.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical skills, and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.
