Key Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and implement robotic welding systems for production lines
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to select appropriate robots, welding equipment, and tooling
- Integrate robotic welding cells into production lines, ensuring minimal downtime and smooth operations
- Program robotic welding machines for various welding operations, including MIG, TIG, and spot welding
- Use offline programming tools to create optimized welding paths for robots
- Adjust robot programming and welding parameters to improve quality, speed, and efficiency
- Set up and calibrate robotic welding systems, ensuring all hardware and software components function correctly
- Ensure welding parameters such as voltage, amperage, travel speed, and gas flow are calibrated for optimal results
- Perform regular maintenance and inspections to ensure smooth robotic welding operations
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and software issues affecting welding systems
- Implement preventive maintenance strategies to reduce unplanned downtime
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and provide technical guidance on machine operation
- Monitor weld quality and ensure it meets required specifications and standards
- Work with quality control teams to troubleshoot weld defects and implement corrective actions
- Provide training and technical support to production staff on robotic welding operations and maintenance
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in robotic welding and automation technology
- Propose and implement process improvements to enhance welding speed, cost-effectiveness, and quality
Qualifications
- Bachelor\'s degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (preferred)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in robotic welding systems and automation
- Proficiency in programming robotic welding machines
- Strong knowledge of welding processes such as MIG, TIG, spot welding, and laser welding
- Familiarity with welding materials, joint designs, and welding codes/standards
- Experience with offline programming software and CAD/CAM systems for robotic welding
- Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical, electrical, and software issues
- Knowledge of automation and PLC programming (preferred)
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including lifting heavy equipment and tools
- Willingness to work with machinery, robotic arms, and industrial tools
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods while performing hands-on tasks
