Role Context
The Senior Manager
Key Responsibilities
* Manage factory-level finance operations in line with GMG Group finance policies, internal controls, governance frameworks, and reporting standards.
* Maintain strong financial discipline across manufacturing transactions, including inventory, procurement, production costing, factory expenses, and operational accruals.
* Oversee month-end closing activities, journal entries, factory cost allocations, provisions, reconciliations, and balance sheet schedules.
* Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting for factory operations, aligned with Group timelines and management expectations.
* Monitor key manufacturing finance metrics such as cost per unit, production yield, wastage, material variances, labor efficiency, overhead absorption, and margin movement.
* Review inventory accounting, stock valuation, factory consumption, inventory adjustments, and related financial controls to ensure reporting accuracy.
* Partner with factory operations to identify cost-saving opportunities across raw materials, packaging, labor, utilities, maintenance, overheads, and production processes.
* Analyze production costs, standard costs, actual costs, bill of material variances, usage trends, and inefficiencies to support better manufacturing decisions.
* Track factory budgets and spending against approved financial plans, highlighting risks, overspends, savings opportunities, and corrective actions.
* Support budgeting and forecasting activities by preparing factory-level financial assumptions, cost models, volume inputs, working capital needs, and operational finance data.
* Lead and support internal and external audits, ensuring documentation readiness, timely responses, and closure of audit findings.
* Safeguard company assets through regular reconciliations, control reviews, stock checks, inventory validation, and compliance follow-up.
* Strengthen factory finance processes by improving reporting discipline, cost visibility, approval workflows, documentation quality, and control effectiveness.
* Provide practical financial insight to factory operations leadership on productivity, waste reduction, cost optimization, and profitability improvement.
* Support business decisions with clear analysis of manufacturing performance, working capital, inventory movement, margin trends, and operational risks.
* Manage and develop the factory finance team by allocating work, reviewing outputs, coaching team members, and ensuring high-quality deliverables.
* Build finance capability within the factory through on-the-job guidance, process discipline, performance follow-up, and continuous improvement.
* Promote a culture of accountability, accuracy, cost awareness, compliance, and strong business partnering across factory finance activities.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline is required.
* Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is an advantage.
* 8-12 years of progressive finance experience, with significant exposure to manufacturing, factory operations, production finance, or plant finance.
* Proven experience managing factory-level finance operations, including costing, inventory, month-end close, reporting, controls, and operational finance support.
* Strong knowledge of manufacturing finance, bill of materials, standard costing, production variances, inventory valuation, stock reconciliations, and factory cost controls.
* Experience working in large, structured organizations with defined governance frameworks, audit requirements, approval controls, and Group reporting standards.
* Strong ability to analyze production costs, factory budgets, margins, wastage, yield, labor costs, overheads, and working capital movement.
* Skilled in financial reporting, month-end closing, balance sheet reconciliations, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting.
* Good understanding of internal controls, audit management, compliance standards, asset safeguarding, and financial governance.
* Advanced Excel skills and hands-on experience with ERP systems used for finance, inventory, procurement, production, and reporting.
* Strong business partnering capability with the confidence to work closely with factory operations, supply chain, procurement, production, and senior finance teams.
* Practical leadership style with the ability to manage team output, improve finance discipline, and support continuous development.
* Detail-oriented, analytical, and execution-focused with strong ownership of deadlines, data accuracy, and financial control.
