Job Overview
The Expeditor - Services will play a key coordination role in maintaining procurement flow, supporting production timelines, and ensuring vendor performance. This position is critical for aligning operational and non-operational supply chain needs in a busy shipyard environment, especially in facilitating communication between technical requesters and procurement teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Monitor and track the status of service orders, ensuring timely delivery of materials, equipment, and third-party services
* Act as a liaison between technical departments and procurement teams to resolve delays and supply issues
* Follow up with suppliers and vendors to expedite pending orders and maintain updated delivery schedules
* Assist in documenting and updating procurement tracking systems and ERP records
* Collaborate with planning and production teams to prioritize urgent requirements
* Ensure that all delivery documentation, service entries, and PO acknowledgments are accurately processed
* Identify potential supply chain bottlenecks and propose timely resolutions
* Uphold health and safety standards, reporting any unsafe practices as observed
Job Requirements
Education:
* Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline
Experience:
* Previous experience in procurement or supply chain support, ideally within a shipyard or marine repair setting
* Familiarity with technical terms related to shipbuilding, ship repair, or heavy industry is preferred
* Prior experience in Gulf countries is an advantage
Skills:
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems (Oracle preferred)
* Excellent time management, coordination, and organizational skills
* Clear and professional communication in English (written and spoken)
* Ability to work independently while ensuring cross-departmental collaboration
* Awareness of OHSE practices with the confidence to halt unsafe operations if required
