HSSEQ Officer - Marine Safety and Compliance for UAE and Qatar Operations
Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated HSSEQ Officer to uphold and enhance the Health, Safety, Security, Environment, and Quality culture across our marine operations in the UAE and Qatar. This role ensures company-wide adherence to safety protocols, supports crew training, and conducts frequent vessel visits to enforce compliance. The ideal candidate will act as the key point of contact for safety leadership, risk assessment, and continuous safety improvement aligned with DP World’s global standards.

Key Responsibilities
* Promote and uphold the company’s Safety Culture across all vessels and marine operations in Qatar and the UAE
* Maintain open communication with crew on HSSEQ issues, address safety concerns, and model safe behavior
* Conduct regular onboard and site inspections, submit visit reports, and ensure follow-up actions are completed
* Identify operational risks, evaluate hazards, and implement control measures to mitigate or eliminate them
* Serve as the subject matter expert for Control of Work and safe work processes, including training crew and employees
* Review safety drills and exercises, offering detailed feedback and improvement suggestions
* Lead safety induction sessions for new crew members, ensuring they are familiar with the Safety Management System (SMS) and role-specific HSSEQ policies
* Coordinate with leadership and technical teams to support compliance across all worksites
Candidate Expectations
* Strong knowledge of HSSEQ systems within the maritime or offshore sector
* Experience leading vessel safety audits, inspections, and control of work programs
* Skilled in risk analysis, root cause investigation, and hazard mitigation strategies
* Familiar with DP World’s Safety Culture and safety leadership frameworks (preferred)
* Strong communication, reporting, and training skills in multicultural environments
