Technical Superintendent – Fleet Operations – DP World – Dubai, UAE
Position Overview
DP World Dubai is seeking an experienced Technical Superintendent to oversee the technical management, maintenance, and operational readiness of assigned vessels. The role ensures that company-owned and managed vessels operate safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with Class, Flag, and statutory regulations. This position is key to optimizing fleet performance, managing budgets, and ensuring seamless technical operations in line with DP World’s global standards.

Key Responsibilities
* Manage all technical operations, maintenance, and repair activities for assigned vessels
* Ensure vessels are operated in full compliance with Class, Flag, and international safety regulations
* Oversee implementation of the planned maintenance system (PMS) to ensure operational reliability and cost efficiency
* Supervise dry dockings, repairs, and survey arrangements in coordination with classification societies and repair yards
* Prepare and manage vessel technical budgets, ensuring cost-effective operations
* Monitor and analyze vessel performance, fuel efficiency, and maintenance schedules
* Liaise with masters and chief engineers to provide technical guidance and support as required
* Source, evaluate, and approve suppliers and contractors for technical services and spare parts procurement
* Coordinate installation and certification of third-party equipment such as ROV, diving systems, and temporary setups
* Conduct onboard inspections, prepare technical reports, and recommend corrective measures
* Maintain and update vessel technical documentation, drawings, and PMS records
* Review and approve repair specifications, tender documents, and cost estimates
* Ensure IMCA guidelines and industry best practices are followed at all times
* Mentor engineering staff and contribute to technical audits, reviews, and improvement programs
Ideal Profile
* Unlimited STCW ’95 Chief Engineer’s License (Motor) or Degree/Diploma in Mechanical or Electromechanical Engineering
* Minimum 10 years of marine engineering experience, including at least 5 years in a superintendent or senior technical role
* Proven expertise in fleet maintenance, repair management, and dry-docking operations
* Strong knowledge of Class and Flag regulations, IMCA standards, and marine safety protocols
* Experience managing budgets, vendors, and technical documentation systems
* Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills
* Ability to travel for vessel inspections and dry-docking as required
