Role
The Consultant Dermatologist is responsible for delivering specialist medical care to patients with acute, chronic, inflammatory, infectious, and other skin-related disorders. The role requires precise clinical assessment, appropriate diagnostic testing, individualized treatment planning, and ongoing monitoring to improve symptoms, control disease progression, and maintain skin health.
The consultant also performs minor dermatological surgical procedures and coordinates care with other healthcare professionals when skin findings are associated with broader medical conditions. Patient education, accurate documentation, preventive counseling, and adherence to clinical and ethical standards are central to maintaining high-quality dermatology services.
Key Responsibilities
* Evaluate patients presenting with skin, hair, and nail concerns.
* Review medical history, previous treatments, medications, allergies, and relevant risk factors.
* Conduct detailed dermatological examinations.
* Diagnose common and complex skin conditions based on clinical findings.
* Develop differential diagnoses for unusual or persistent dermatological presentations.
* Request appropriate laboratory investigations when required.
* Arrange further diagnostic testing based on the suspected condition.
* Perform skin biopsies for diagnostic clarification.

Ideal Profile
The position requires a recognized medical degree together with specialist training in Dermatology.
Candidates should hold Board Certification in Dermatology or an equivalent recognized qualification.
A minimum of five years of experience practicing as a Consultant Dermatologist is required.
The successful physician should have substantial experience diagnosing and treating a wide variety of skin conditions within an established clinical environment.
Strong procedural capability in skin biopsies, lesion excision, suturing, and follow-up wound management is important.
Candidates should demonstrate confidence in selecting and interpreting appropriate diagnostic investigations for dermatological disease.
Experience developing individualized medical treatment plans and managing both acute and chronic skin disorders is essential.
