Role Context
The Consultant - Dermatology will provide specialist care for patients with a wide range of skin, hair, and nail concerns, including chronic skin diseases, cosmetic dermatology needs, suspicious lesions, and complex dermatological presentations. The role involves accurate diagnosis, treatment planning, procedural care, patient education, collaboration with healthcare teams, and supervision of clinical staff. The consultant will help strengthen dermatology services in Dubai by combining clinical skill, modern technology, ethical treatment advice, and compassionate patient communication.
Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose and treat a wide variety of skin conditions, including acne, eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, pigmentation concerns, allergic skin disease, hair disorders, and skin cancer.
* Perform detailed skin examinations, dermoscopic assessment where applicable, skin biopsies, lesion evaluation, and minor dermatological procedures.
* Administer specialized dermatology and aesthetic treatments such as chemical peels, laser therapy, phototherapy, and other approved skin treatments.
* Develop personalized treatment plans based on diagnosis, patient history, skin type, clinical findings, safety profile, and treatment goals.
* Provide medical and cosmetic dermatology consultations with clear explanation of options, risks, expected outcomes, and aftercare.
* Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to support comprehensive care for patients with complex or multidisciplinary skin conditions.
* Educate patients on skincare routines, sun protection, preventive measures, treatment adherence, and long-term skin health.
* Stay updated with the latest dermatology research, clinical techniques, aesthetic technologies, and evidence-based treatment standards.
* Train and supervise medical staff, including resident physicians, nurses, and clinic support teams when required.
* Maintain accurate medical records, procedure notes, consent documentation, treatment plans, prescriptions, and follow-up reports.
* Ensure all care follows DHA requirements, clinic protocols, patient safety standards, ethical medical practice, and confidentiality rules.
* Support a professional and empathetic patient experience focused on trust, comfort, realistic outcomes, and high-quality clinical care.
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree from an accredited institution.
* Board certification in Dermatology.
* Valid DHA Consultant License or eligibility for Consultant Dermatology registration in Dubai.
* Minimum 5 years of experience as a Consultant Dermatologist.
* Western education or training is required.
* In-depth knowledge of common, chronic, complex, and cosmetic dermatology conditions.
* Proven experience in diagnosing and treating acne, eczema, psoriasis, skin cancer, inflammatory skin disease, and aesthetic skin concerns.
* Skilled in skin examinations, biopsies, laser therapy, chemical peels, phototherapy, and treatment planning.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a professional and empathetic approach.
* Strong leadership, organizational ability, clinical documentation skills, and team supervision experience.
* Ability to work effectively with a diverse team in a modern healthcare environment.
