The role requires careful clinical assessment, realistic surgical planning, precise operative technique, and detailed postoperative monitoring. Close collaboration with plastic surgeons, maxillofacial surgeons, anesthesiologists, radiologists, and other specialists will support safe procedures and balanced functional and aesthetic outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose and manage a broad range of ear, nose, and throat disorders affecting adult and adolescent patients.
* Assess patients seeking functional or cosmetic nasal surgery.
* Evaluate nasal airway obstruction, septal deviation, chronic sinus disease, trauma-related deformity, and congenital abnormalities.
* Perform functional rhinoplasty within approved clinical privileges.
* Carry out cosmetic rhinoplasty based on appropriate clinical assessment and informed patient expectations.
* Perform septoplasty and septorhinoplasty for suitable cases.
* Conduct functional endoscopic sinus surgery when clinically indicated.
* Undertake nasal reconstruction following trauma, disease, or previous surgery.
* Perform nasal endoscopy and interpret findings alongside symptoms and examination results.
* Review CT imaging and other relevant diagnostic investigations.
* Develop individualized surgical and non-surgical treatment plans.
* Conduct comprehensive preoperative assessments and identify procedural or anesthetic risks.
* Explain treatment options, expected results, limitations, recovery requirements, and potential complications.
* Obtain informed consent and maintain clear documentation of agreed treatment goals.
* Provide intraoperative care within the consultant\'s credentialed scope.
* Manage postoperative recovery, wound care, nasal function, pain control, swelling, and potential complications.
* Monitor long-term functional and aesthetic outcomes and revise follow-up plans when necessary.
* Collaborate with plastic surgery, maxillofacial surgery, radiology, anesthesia, and other relevant specialties.
* Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions for complex reconstructive or revision procedures.
* Maintain accurate consultation notes, operative reports, imaging reviews, consent records, and follow-up documentation.
* Follow hospital quality, infection control, patient safety, and clinical governance standards.
* Contribute to clinical audits, research, teaching, departmental meetings, and continuing medical education.
* Remain current with advances in rhinoplasty, nasal reconstruction, endoscopic surgery, and otolaryngology practice.
Ideal Profile
Applicants must hold an MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution and have completed approved specialist training in Otolaryngology.
Fellowship, formal subspecialty training, or substantial documented experience in Rhinoplasty is required. Candidates must demonstrate expertise in both functional and cosmetic nasal surgery, including septoplasty, septorhinoplasty, and advanced reconstructive procedures.
A minimum of five years of post-specialization experience as a Consultant ENT Surgeon within a reputable tertiary-care hospital is required.
Western medical education or clinical experience gained in the United Kingdom, United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, or an equivalent healthcare system is preferred.
Eligibility for or possession of a valid Dubai Health Authority Consultant licence is essential. The successful physician will demonstrate excellent surgical judgment, realistic patient counseling, precise technical ability, and effective multidisciplinary teamwork.
