Key Responsibilities
* Conduct comprehensive gastroenterology consultations for adult patients.
* Diagnose disorders affecting the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, colon, liver, pancreas, and gallbladder.
* Evaluate patients presenting with abdominal pain, reflux, altered bowel habits, gastrointestinal bleeding, and other digestive symptoms.
* Manage irritable bowel syndrome according to evidence-based treatment principles.
* Diagnose and treat inflammatory bowel disease.
* Provide specialist management for gastroesophageal reflux disease.
* Assess and manage common and complex liver disorders.
* Provide hepatology-focused care where clinically appropriate.
* Evaluate pancreatic and biliary conditions.
* Develop individualized treatment plans based on diagnosis, disease severity, investigation results, and patient needs.
* Monitor clinical response and adjust treatment strategies when required.
* Perform diagnostic gastroscopy.
* Conduct colonoscopy for diagnostic, surveillance, and therapeutic indications.
* Carry out therapeutic endoscopic procedures within approved clinical privileges.
* Obtain biopsies during endoscopic procedures when indicated.
