The role requires close collaboration with audiologists, speech therapists, pediatricians, radiologists, nurses, and other specialists. Accurate diagnosis and timely intervention will support better hearing, breathing, communication, sleep, development, and long-term quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
* Evaluate infants, children, and adolescents presenting with ear, nose, throat, airway, hearing, or sinus concerns.
* Diagnose and manage congenital and acquired pediatric ENT disorders.
* Assess recurrent ear infections, hearing impairment, tonsillar disease, adenoid enlargement, sinus conditions, and related complaints.
* Develop individualized medical, surgical, and follow-up plans based on clinical findings and diagnostic results.
* Perform tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy within approved clinical privileges.
* Carry out tympanoplasty and other pediatric ear procedures when clinically indicated.
* Perform endoscopic sinus surgery for suitable pediatric cases.
* Provide preoperative assessment and explain procedures, risks, alternatives, and expected outcomes to families.
* Deliver postoperative care and monitor recovery, pain control, wound healing, hearing, and airway status.
* Interpret audiograms, CT scans, MRI studies, endoscopic findings, and other diagnostic investigations.
* Provide specialist consultations and second opinions for complex pediatric ENT cases.
* Collaborate with audiologists, speech therapists, pediatricians, radiologists, and multidisciplinary clinical teams.
* Coordinate care for children with hearing, speech, communication, airway, or developmental concerns.
* Monitor patient progress and revise treatment plans when symptoms or test findings change.
* Maintain accurate consultation notes, operative reports, consent records, and follow-up documentation.
* Follow hospital policies, patient safety requirements, infection control procedures, and applicable Dubai healthcare regulations.
* Participate in clinical audits, departmental meetings, quality improvement programs, and continuing medical education.
* Supervise and mentor junior doctors, residents, and medical students when required.
* Remain current with advances in pediatric otolaryngology, surgical techniques, and evidence-based practice.
Ideal Profile
Applicants must hold a recognized medical degree and have completed approved specialist training in Otolaryngology.
Fellowship training or board certification in Pediatric ENT is preferred. Candidates should have at least five years of post-specialization experience, with substantial responsibility for pediatric consultations and surgical cases.
Western medical education or clinical training gained in the United Kingdom, United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, or an equivalent healthcare system is mandatory.
Eligibility for a Dubai Health Authority Consultant licence is required. The successful candidate should demonstrate strong surgical judgment, clear communication, compassionate family engagement, and effective multidisciplinary teamwork.
Fluency in English is essential. Arabic language capability would be advantageous.
