The Consultant Pediatric Rehabilitation provides medical leadership for children whose physical, neurological or developmental conditions affect movement, communication, independence and daily participation. The role combines specialist assessment with coordinated rehabilitation planning to help each child achieve realistic functional goals according to age, diagnosis and developmental needs.
Working within a multidisciplinary pediatric rehabilitation environment, the consultant brings together physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and medical management into a unified care plan. The position has a direct impact on functional development, caregiver confidence, school participation and long-term independence.
Key Responsibilities
* Assess infants, children and adolescents referred for pediatric rehabilitation.
* Evaluate physical function, mobility, strength, tone, balance and coordination.
* Review developmental concerns affecting age-appropriate independence.
* Manage rehabilitation needs associated with cerebral palsy.
* Assess children with developmental delay and functional impairment.
* Provide rehabilitation management for pediatric neuromuscular disorders.
* Evaluate musculoskeletal conditions affecting movement and daily activities.
* Identify rehabilitation priorities based on diagnosis, developmental stage and family goals.
* Establish individualized short-term and long-term treatment objectives.
* Develop comprehensive pediatric rehabilitation plans.

The position requires a consultant-level qualification relevant to Pediatric Rehabilitation, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Pediatrics, Neurology or Orthopedics together with substantial rehabilitation experience.
Candidates should have at least five years of relevant clinical experience managing children with physical, developmental, neurological or musculoskeletal conditions.
The successful physician should demonstrate strong knowledge of cerebral palsy, developmental delay, neuromuscular disorders and pediatric functional rehabilitation.
Experience directing multidisciplinary programs involving physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy is highly desirable.
Strong leadership skills are important because the consultant is expected to coordinate rehabilitation goals across several clinical disciplines while maintaining a consistent patient-centered plan.
