The Consultant Pediatrician serves as a primary specialist for
children across different stages of growth and development. The role combines routine preventive care with diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic pediatric conditions, helping ensure that young patients receive timely, coordinated and family-centered medical support.
The consultant is also responsible for guiding parents through treatment decisions, vaccination schedules, developmental concerns and preventive health measures. Strong communication in Arabic is essential for this position, particularly when explaining complex medical issues and building trust with patients and families.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct routine pediatric examinations to monitor growth, development and general health.
* Assess newborns, children and adolescents presenting with acute or ongoing medical concerns.
* Diagnose childhood illnesses, injuries and developmental problems using appropriate clinical methods.
* Prescribe and interpret diagnostic investigations to clarify underlying medical conditions.
* Review laboratory and imaging results and incorporate findings into treatment planning.
* Develop individualized care plans according to patient age, diagnosis and clinical needs.
* Prescribe medications and other therapies within approved clinical practice.
* Administer or supervise immunizations according to established pediatric vaccination schedules.
* Provide preventive healthcare advice to reduce the risk of illness and support healthy development.
* Manage common pediatric emergencies and recognize situations requiring escalation or hospital admission.
* Coordinate care with pediatric subspecialists when advanced assessment or treatment is required.
* Direct multidisciplinary care plans involving nursing, allied health and specialist teams.
* Monitor treatment response and adjust management strategies when necessary.
* Provide ongoing care for children with chronic or recurrent conditions.
