Role Context
The Consultant Physician - Pediatric Endocrinology will deliver specialist care for children with endocrine and metabolic conditions, helping improve diagnosis, treatment outcomes, long-term disease management, and family confidence. The role requires strong clinical leadership, evidence-based decision-making, and close collaboration with pediatricians, nurses, laboratory teams, residents, medical students, and other hospital specialists.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide advanced pediatric endocrinology care for infants, children, and adolescents with endocrine disorders
* Assess patients through detailed history-taking, physical examination, diagnostic review, and clinical evaluation
* Diagnose and manage pediatric endocrine conditions such as diabetes, growth disorders, thyroid disease, puberty disorders, adrenal conditions, and metabolic concerns
* Develop individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based pediatric endocrinology practices
* Interpret laboratory investigations, hormone profiles, imaging reports, and other diagnostic tests accurately
* Offer expert consultation to hospital teams for complex pediatric endocrine cases
* Work with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care and safe patient management
* Build strong professional relationships with patients, families, colleagues, residents, and support teams
* Participate in clinical governance, service development, research activity, and publication where applicable
* Teach and train medical students, residents, junior doctors, and clinical staff in pediatric endocrinology practice
* Ensure compliance with hospital policies, Saudi healthcare regulations, and professional medical standards
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree from a recognized medical institution
* Board certification in Pediatric Endocrinology
* Minimum 5 years of consultant-level experience in pediatric endocrinology
* Valid Saudi medical license or eligibility for licensing is required
* Western training or Western education is required
* Deep knowledge of pediatric endocrine disorders, hormonal conditions, growth concerns, and metabolic disease management
* Strong ability to interpret pediatric laboratory and diagnostic results
* Excellent communication skills for working with children, families, and multidisciplinary hospital teams
* Proven leadership ability in a specialist clinical environment
* Team-oriented approach with resilience in a busy hospital setting
* Fluency in English is required, while Arabic language skills are an advantage
